hey guys,,,this is gonna be a bit of an odd post,,but does anybody know if mark tait is on this site and if so,,,what his online name is?
i hav a little question i would love to get answered, but i can only get it from him

any help would be great

im looking for the mark tait who painted the duel entry ith the ultramarines terminator and genestealer last year in the GD 06 UK competition. And i believe he was on the eavy metal team for a short period of time.

Can\'t say I\'ve seen any of his stuff on here before, either - a shame, because it\'s frikkin\' awesome! I\'ve met him once too You could ask Neil H, I seem to remember him having a few of Mr. Tait\'s pieces.

I don\'t think Mark comes here much. I did talk to a couple of his friends Joe Hill and Matt Parkes at GD France last month and they said he had just started a new job so hes been busy. I agree you may try contacting him through Neil H as he seems to have Tabs on many of the UK painters.

well my question pretty much goes as follows

umm what colours were used for painting the terminators blue armour,,was it over white,,,and where there any specific painting techniques used?

if anyone could help with that, it would be much appreciated

A user here, and miniature collector, you can PM him just search for Neil H or go to the \"CMON conventions\" forum where he recently started a topic, open the topic, click his name and click send a private message.

It looks like Ultramarines blue possibly with a bit of shadow grey in it (I don\'t own ultramarines blue so I can\'t compare and be sure) Highlights seem to be done in spacewolf grey while the shading might have a thin layer blue ink over it (I\'d mix in regal blue instead to prevent shine though if you\'re not going to varnish it). The dirt looks like it\'s done with graveyard earth. I\'d probably work from a white primer to get that result. If you get a response by Mark it\'d be fun to hear how far off I was..

I\'d guess that UM blue was not used, not without a fair bit of grey anyway. It looks too pastel for UM.

Yeah you\'re probably right, it\'s too pastel. Probably shadow grey and UM blue mixed together, don\'t you think? Too saturated for Shadow grey on it\'s own. Maybe it was glazed with blue ink?
