If you could attend a 3 day painting workshop who would you want as the teacher?

I ask this not because I\'m setting aniything up (but if I won the lottery you can bet your sweet ass I would). I mostly would love to see who people would want to learn from.

Now that\'s a tough one, I\'d have to choose several lol

Jeremie, would love to attend one of his seminars at some point, love his control of colour and ambience

Jarhead/Roman, Insanity on a plinth lol again, love how he uses colour, not always technically perfect, but incredibly evocative and effective works, which tell a story

Jaques Alexandre Gillios (spelling?) JAG, what can I say? Amazing sculptor, absolutely amazing, brilliant painter as well, insanely talented git :p

Mike McVey, huge contribution to the hobby, top class painter

And there are several more, but I\'ll stop being a sycophant for the immediate future :p

I\'ve been in one seminar (3 day) by Vincent Hudon (excellent)...who gave his own ideas as well as what he learned from JEremie and Allan Carrasco, as well as a mini one by Mathieu Fontaine

For sculpting; Allan, JAG, Remy T.

Painting: same as above, with Nano (Fernando C), and Jeremie added

Detailing: Matthieu, to have more time to learn pigments (although the DVD he told me to get seems promising although won\'t try those stuff until later this month),

I\'m probably missing

Hmmmm.....

Actually the style I like the most is Ritual. But he doesn\'t do that kind of thing. Probably because he\'s so tall and goth.

I like Jarhead\'s colors, Automaton\'s overall feel as well. JBT would be cool, but I\'ve watched that DvD so many times it would be wierd to hear his actual voice and not the voice over guy. And I\'d insist that he bring someone to play that little ditty of music form the main title screen.

Actually anyone and everyone giving a seminar would have something for me to learn from. I\'ve never been, so I would love to just plain old be in one.

Though don\'t you guys think heckling at one of these would be fun too? \"I\'ve seen more complimentary colors in my toilet!\", \"You call that blending!?!?!? I\'ve seen better blending at a Romulan/Klingon mixer!\", \"Nice Sculpting. It looks like you puked in one hand and dumped in the other then clapped them together and put what fell onto the table on a 25mm base!\". I think it\'d be a hoot.

My personal choice would be Adrian Bay, and would be just as much a sculpting workshop. His models are always my favorites and he is my main inspiration.

Or Jarhead becuase i love his painting style and his bases.

That\'s a tough one. Probably Mike McVey (and bringing Ali along wouldn\'t hurt :) ).

Also Cyril, Ben Komets, Automaton, Mathieu Lalain, ... the more I think about it the more names come to my mind.

Not to derail...but those of you that have had the opportunity to attend a workshop like this...where do you find out about them? I would LOVE to take a mini vacation and spend a weekend learning from someone of the calibre of those mentioned here.

Is there anything like this in N. American west coast that happens with frequency?

I\'d would freak out to be able to do something like this. The hardest part would not being able to explain how excited and amazing it was to those who don\'t paint!

I went to one a couple of years ago with Jeremie. I heard about it here. Just keep your eyes peeled.

jeremie is great. and i love his classes.

but honestly jarhead. mainly because he always comments on my minis and has such amazing things himself. the fact that he is an important part of the community by keeping with everyone else and commenting shows his abilities as a good teacher...at least that is what i am assuming. rock on jarhead.

For me it would be Rusto (I like his colors and atmosphere), Yellow One (his reflective NMM is too awesome to not be taught), Allan C, and Mathieul.

For sculpting JAG, Allan C, Thomas David, and anyone else who sculpted for Asmodee.
