That is really clever! Then you can start by sculpting all things that are really ugly, and then as you get better, you can move on to more good looking things.:D

Oooh like the paintjobs on those angels. who pained the second one (is that Gael\'s or is the first one Gaels?)? Is that NMM or real metal? I can\'t tell!!!

I\'ve already had ago at sculpting the two things I wanted to sculpt, those being a weretigress from a barbie doll and a dragon. But I\'d love to do better!:D

is it possiable to sculpt wings that arnt as stiff?

i really like the wings of that card i posted, but everywhere i go theres nothing like that.

even Rackhams D\'Allmoon (which is beautiful) doesnt have wings like that.

Probably cause of casting problems. However I don\'t complain as these wings look like they\'ve lost too many feathers (quills?:) )

I\'d probably sculpt some manga stuff as I\'d like really like to see some manga minis. Trigun, hunter x, robin ..... well all of them :p

I think it\'s possible, but as PF said, casting could be tricky ... stay tuned Becca ;).

Casting could be difficult I think.
Im on with the Sacred Blade one and have \"bent\" the wings a bit to get a bit more motion,I could be wrong though.
Im slowly getting into sculpting by doing things for my bases like the pumpkin I did for the gymnast and Ive done something for a pre production Alice from Hasslefree that you should see soon.
I would like a set of \"blanks\" for figures.I have trouble with scale. If I had a skeleton to work from then it would make it much easier.
How \"moveable\" are the Reaper dollies???
I suppose GW plastic skellies could fit the bill.

Origineel geplaatst door ipaintminisis it possiable to sculpt wings that arnt as stiff?
Sure, that\'s possible. Here is an example:
pegasus.jpg

Old GW wings that I put on a RP pegasus.
Thing is just that it\'s harder to sculpt that a stiff wing. What\'s more of a problem with those wings in your pic are those separate long feathers.

Another example: http://lanceandlaser.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=LAL&Product_Code=00204

It can even be more dynamic than these two. But as I said, it\'s harder to do.

Pretty close huh ? It\'s an anime resin kit from the Ah! My Goddess series, but since the eyes are closed it shouldn\'t be such a big deal :). Anyway, it\'s large scale, and so far I haven\'t seen it in stock anywhere, but still, the resemblance is uncanny don\'t you think ? On the down side, if you can find it somewhere, it\'ll cost you around US$80.

I\'ll keep you updated if I can find it somewhere.

Edit : there are alos resin kits for Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Hellsing, Witch Hunter Robin, etc... :D

Hehe, well at least now I earned them :D.

Anyway, you might want to look around if there\'s not another pose you\'d prefer - there are a lot of them available. I myself am trying to get my hands on this one, but it\'s out of stock everywhere :(.

Brushlicker and Freak!
I\'d like to see the Winter of the World books characters done as minis, especially the crippled Elof with his jewel encrusted blackcarbon steel wings, that would be cool...

:)

@Becca : I think the wings are clear resin or plastic (maybe with a layer of transparent ink over them for the purple hue), but the dress is definitely painted.

@green stuff : Probably very :D.

It\'s from Azimuth design and this one actually rocks. Wings are a bit small though :)

check this out for more:

Warning: these kits show nudity.

And Mike, I might try some doodling in Fimo soon, and then I will doodle up a face of an Elf Noble, all haughty and disdainfull.... :)

Don\'t say I didn\'t warn you ;)

But for all you practicing with putties out there:

if you want to learn to sculpt female anatomy, THIS is what you want to do. Small scale minis are always exagerated in shapes like these are. Check out the site for more examples.

Mike is the master and I hope to be as good as he is one day.
