iLynx\'s Kharn The Betrayer [UPDATE - 6th April]

These are the fist couple of snaps of my latest project, Kharn THe Betrayer. Ive gone for a lot darker scheme than ive normally seen around the net. There is still plenty to do, plus i feel the verdigri effect on the bronzed parts of the armour hasnt come out as well as i expected. The armour was painted over black, starting with a mix of GW blood red and GW purple in, gradually adding in more blood red to build up the layers. The brass areas were painted in scorched brown, then brazen brass. These areas were then washed with a dark angels green / hawk turquoise mix, before being lightly drybrushed with brazen brass again.

The dark colourscheme looks very promising! I like the deep red and flesh, but as you have already pointed out the bronze could use some work.

Some more work done, im really enjoyng painting this mini. The chains ar done as well as the straps across the chest. Ive done some work on the skulls which still needs some touching up. I went for a worn, old bone look but it looks rather scrappy at the mo. Next update should show him standing on his base Ive built with his head and plasma pistol arm attached.

Here he is approaching completion! Just the backpack left to do. I was much more satisfied with the way the blending came out on the head in comparison to the rest of the armour, I may have to touch up on a few spots. Bits i dont like, well, the eight pointed star on the base that is supposed to look like dried blood looks tacky so ill probably paint it out.
