Imperial Guard Flag Design Help

I would like to design a regimental flag for my Imperial Guard army, the Margotian 13th.

The army\'s defining characteristic is it\'s use of mobile, medium-range tanks to perform hit and run attacks. They make very little use of long or short ranged weaponry, and excel at desert warfare.

The Regiment has very close ties with the Adeptus Mechanicus.

I\'ve been trying to design a flag with these things in mind, but I don\'t think I\'m very good at graphic design. Is there anyone who might be able to throw an idea or two out to maybe fire up my imagination?

Swooping Hawk with a Mechanicus log in one of it\'s talons.
Striking Snake with Mechanicus logo in it\'s eye.
Lunging Sword with Mechanicus logo in it\'s Crosspiece.
Lightening Bolt emanating from a Mechanicus logo.

Anything like that, but I\'d suggest using a Desert coloured sand style background for the flag.

You could do a version of the old Arfika korps crossed palms

(esp. considering the Aquila is pseudo-nazi lol)

i don\'t think an Eldar would be the best thing for the flag.

not sure if there is one in desert areas....but how about a spitting cobra on an AM logo.

maybe coiled up AS the logo and popping out to spit. this would kind of go with your range. no reall long and no melee. plus it spits for defense which kind of ties in with your hit and run tactics.

not really sure of another desert related critter that uses mid-ranged attacks.

I can definitely see that with a Mechanicus gear.

what i get from looking through my old retail surplus this morning and seeing something then reading a forum.

i still personally fel it doesn\'t fit with mid-range attack scheme, but it does fit with a hit-and-run.

but its not my flag....

I\'m liking your hawk that your using as your logo. Maybe something based on that? Crossed lighting bolts?
checkout the 1st, 2nd, 3rd armored divisions patches, something like that may work for you. Although your going to have to do away with the color yellow (that\'s the color of the artillery), may not work with your idea.

These ideas are out-freaking-standing.

I\'m going to need some help with color choice, but I\'ll be back in a day or two with a mock up design in black and white.

My army colors are primarily Snakebite Leather for troops and sentinels with a Scorched Brown color for tanks and APCs.

The idea is, that there is a LOT of desert on their world, but where there is rock, it\'s normally darker in color. Thus, their home world color scheme.
