It means feck all to 99% of folk (hoho!), but Munster beat Biarritz today in the Heineken Cup of rugby union. If anyone gives a tinkers cuss, this result put one in Serge Blanco\'s face (great player though he was). He said we should limit the participation of Celtic League teams in the European tournament and then, lo and behold, a team from our league wins it! In yer face you 60-a-day smoker! We\'re alive and kicking! It wasn\'t a Welsh team, but by Jove it was one of our own!

You\'d think someone who has been privileged enough to Play his Game at the level he did on some of the biggest stages in the world would have a more universally accepting opinion of the game and agree with the integration not stand there and preach bollocks..

Took the words from my mouth, kind of. His attitude towards money in particular stinks. We want to nurture our game in Ireland, Scotland and Wales, yet he says the French and English should take over because they have more benefactors. The flip-side he doesn\'t get is the money we bring to the game. 100,000 Munster fans in Cardiff and the fans in Limerick piled up in the centre of town to watch the match...incredible. The only comparison I can draw was the Welsh Grand Slam last year. I felt like a kid ready to cry seeing the affect the match had on the Irish guys. Incredible folk. I shook hands with so many of them today. They were carrying the aspirations of more than just Ireland today. I just opened up there. Shocking lol

Got to say as a Yorkshireman Born in Australia and living in Leeds .I have been lucky enough to play Rugby with some great players..incl good ol Jason Robinson who\'s a mate of mine..I still very much view Wales as the true home of Rugby..If not always in talent always in spirit..god bless em all.

It was while we were a bit younger 18-23 He was always an handful from being 13..Billy Whizz was his nickname then..Playing with and against him it was always my job to mark the sod..Highest tackle count versus highest Try scorer..It was always a bit of a crunch match..
Naile him Good and proper a couple of times..Cracke his Rib once..All good fun

Quality player in his time, little Hitler in the here and now. What a tit lol

Rev,

I always hated Serge Blanco - Nothing to do with him being French either. Quality player though he undoubtedly was, he was one of the sneakiest little buggers to play the game.
I remember one time when in possibly the most cowardly act I\'ve witnessed on the rugby field he laid out Nigel Heslop by sneaking round his blindside, throwing a punch then skulking off before the ref saw who\'d done it.

If this result sticks in his Gallic craw a little and makes his Sauvignon Blanc taste a little sour this evening then what a shame!

Demonherald - you played with Billy Whizz? Kudos! He was and still is one of the greatest exponents to play the game.

Agree and a nice guy to boot.. Went through a dodgy religous patch at the backend of his league career but has put a lot of time into helping the grass roots throughout his career..
Sound Bloke...
