Hi,

I started a thread in the Discuss Submissions section and got the advice to start a WIP thread here to get some good help and criticism. Like I wrote in that thread, I've been painting miniatures for around 20 years now but it's the last bunch of years that I've actually been enjoying doing it and trying to improve my skills.

To start it of I decided to try to practice on glazing/juiceing (or what you want to call it) which I haven't really used before and to work with more contrast (haven't got to that part yet though)

The victim for this test, an old Orc boss:

The skin tone is already looking nice. I'd recommend checking out the Painting Buddha video on Youtube. For an A1 ork burna boy tutorial

Two more wip's that I've been working on over the weekend. They are not turning out very well, having a hard time getting the right paint to water mix amount so everything turned out kinda rough. Good practice though

Thank you! I just stripped Zwëothel from Andrea today to have something a bit more interesting to try out.

I started painting Zwëothel a few days ago and here's the first wip.

This is with the first stage of shading and highlighting done. I need to figure out how to make a good shading color for this.

I think I'm done with her skin for now and started her "clothing".

I hope I'll be able to finish her quite soon as I have some other exciting miniatures on it's way here, Gokan for the group "comp" and I finally managed to order Lilith by Nocturna which I'm very , very excited about.

But back to this miniature, I'm having some problems with her base, or the lack of ideas for it. The only thing I've decided is that it will be an autumn base, I would appreciate some ideas, if you have any.

It feels like it's missing something but I can't put my finger on what.

I think I'm done with this miniature now, getting pretty sick of her lol. I just need to give her some matt varnish and paint her lips. The camera didn't like her much today so some of the color looks a bit off.

Next up, also a recently stripped miniature from Andrea, this time Daramis. I got a couple of hours of painting done today but there's still a lot to do. Any constructive criticism is welcomed.
