I couldn't keep my focus and started painting Gokan for the competition here and after a couple of botched tests for the skin I think I've decided to keep the one I have on this photo.
I'm quite pleased with the skin but it feels like there's to much leather so I'm considering either changing his skirt from leather to some fabric instead, or try to freehand some pattern on it. I'm leaning towards adding a pattern but I would like some input on it.
Back to painting after Christmas, I haven't made much progress but I did mess up the leather so I'm redoing that at the moment. I'm starting to have a hard time to see what needs more work so any advice on that would be very appreciated!
I'm still considering adding a pattern on the skirt and maybe a scarification instead of a tattoo, I've been looking around at photos most of this evening and with those and looking at my own scarification and other normal scars, I think it could work out.
He's more or less done, might follow some good advise I got in the Gokan thread to make the lighting better, if I get the energy to go back to him. I'm working on a base atm.
In between I've been painting away on the lovely Faun Woman by Orgigen Arts. She's almost done but I'm having problems getting the hair right. If anyone has any suggestions about it I would love to hear it.
Finished the base for my Gokan, I had a really hard time to come up with a base and couldn't find much inspiration so I made a very simple base just to have it done.
Next project is on it's way, this time Narok from Origen Arts. I really love this model, I'm a huge fan Clive Barker fan and the miniature really feels like something he would have in his books. The quality is really good, both the sculpting and casting.
I'm about half way done with him right now and I'm using him as one of the miniatures for MV's Banana contest.
