Inferno Kickstarter pipe dreams?

I'm curious what everyone else who enjoys Arcadia Quest would like to see during the AQ: Inferno Kickstarter. This could be exclusive items, paid add-ons, etc. Explain why you'd like to see them too. Who knows, maybe some of our ideas haven't been thought of by CMON and will be added to the Kickstarter!

I'd love to see an option to buy additional tiles sets from both "vanilla" AQ(and BtG) and Inferno(and presumably its unannounced expansion). This would bring the tile count up to 24(25 with the "blue/white dragon) double-sided tiles, so if you have an extra set of each tile, you could make a massive homebrew scenario.

An online scenario generator would be amazing as well. I think this was mentioned at CMON Expo, but I don't think I've seen official word on it. Some options I'd like to see on it would be a tile placement tool and option to print it out similarly to how the campaign book is set up.

I'm expecting that there will be a ton of KS exclusive heroes like the original campaign, though I'm unsure how necessary that is to those that already have all the heroes. There were 40 available at the end of the KS, there have been 4 added since and there are 6 more coming soon and there's Tomrick, so that would bring the current total to 51 heroes. I'm looking forward to some more strange creatures that can be heroes.

I'd like to see upgraded player mats, if something like the Xenoshyft playmats were made availabel, I'd jump on those quickly. Another idea for improving the playmats is to add a way to hold the cards in place through storage. My gaming group plays one campaign at a time and it is at least a week before the next session, so taking all the cards off the boards and then replacing them the next session is a bit of a pain. I'd love an official way that we can just put the whole board in the box and have it ready to go next time. For my game, I've made some slightly thicker boards and attached card sleeves to hold all the characters and weapons taht will do exactly what I've explained above.

Now I'm getting into the territory that no one will read this, so I am going to stop, but what are some of your ideas?!

Is Inferno getting its own kickstarter? I thought it was a simple expansion that they already had the funds to produce.
If it's getting KSed I'd love to get in for the extra goodies. Missed out on the original game and only have the base set and BtG bought from the store, so extra stuff is always welcome.
Just did a quick checkup over at Kickstarter and couldn't see Inferno there, only the already funded AQ.

Love your idea for the guildmat, though. Might glue some cardsleeves in myself. Thanks for the tip. :)

Yes, they announced Q4 this year at the CMON Expo. So we have some time before it launches, the next game launching on KS is The Others: 7 Sins, which looks quite good too.

I can get attempt to get some pictures for the guild mat if you'd like. I'm not sure how well they will turn out because they are rather glossy.

Have you finished a campaign yet?

Yes. Did the original campaign this tuesday with my fiancée. We rushed through the first five scenarios like tissuepaper, but the final one was a real drag. It took us nearly three hour, mainly because Lord Fang kept on healing himself ad nauseum. In the end it turned out to be a game of hitting him as often and hard as possible, with the winner going to the one with the luckiest roll. That turned out to be her, though I won the campaign with 4 out of medals.
I think from now on we'll houserule that each crit only heal ONE wound.

I also have a 3-player game going where we only need to complete the final scenario.
I've yet to try the BtG campaign.

My group has been taking their time, we finished our campaign a few weeks ago and will be starting BtG this weekend Definitely looking forward to the Tombstone card mechanic. Sounds like a lot of added fun. On that aspect, Inferno is going to have a similar game mechanic called Brimstone. So BtG could be somehwat of a preview for that.

If you haven't seen it, Tabletop Gaming News had a pretty good write-up of the AQ: Inferno located at http://www.tabletopgamingnews.com/arcadia-inferno-detailed-at-cmon-expo/
and another forum member, Khelthros, posted some pictures on his Instagram of the figs from Inferno. http://www.instagram.com/khelthros

Based on all that info, is there anything that you'd like to see in Inferno?

Perhaps some kind of skill-deck, where you can purchace skills for your characters, much like their natural abilities?
You'd perhaps get a chance to purchace after scenario 2 and 5, and the skills would be crazy expensive compared to items. Each player get three cards, pick one and pass the rest clockwise, then pick one more and pass the last one clockwise. You'd then be allowed to purchace one skill only, discarding the rest. This is in addition to purchacing upgrade cards, so you'd have to prioritize what you want. You then give it to a hero, and ONLY that hero can use it.
Ingame you choose wheter to equip the skill or not, placing it over a heros narural ability, thus making you choose between your initial ability or that of the skillcard. At rest a hero can choose to equip or unequip a skill, but he can NOT pass it to another hero.

That would be interesting, but I don't see that happening seeing how SPM relaunched Super Dungeon Explore. And I don't think any of their games are partnered with CMoN anymore.

How about official character cards for the SDE characters?

We'll probably never see official AQ heros for the SDE characters. I know people have expressed interest in just getting hero cards made with the SDE characters. Which is super easy to do, we just need to balance out unique abilities for them.

It might also become unmanageable because if SDE character AQ cards are made then it really sets a precedent for supporting future SDE characters. A card creator is what is needed. Some online version that is generic enough for both games. As the minis are really interchangeable between games.

Soda Pop Miniatures and CoolMiniOrNot have decided to "just be friends". Like Trigoras said, this means you won't see official cross-over cards between the games. I know that there is interest for there to be cross-over cards made in both direction, but it looks like Fan-made cards will be the only way to do this. For those with a guildmaster pledge, the question then comes to be, "Why do you want new heroes?" and, "what do you want them to be like?"

I can't link because I am at work, but CoolMinorNot posted some photos from demos over the weekend and showed off the heroes a little more including being able to see some of the hero cards and showed off the angels.

After seeing the angels, I certainly hope that they have more up their sleeves for the kickstarter. Depending how they are used, a "backer" angel could be a fun concept, especially as a KS exclusive.

Spent some time playing the game with a designer at GenCon (that's me and my two kids on their facebook page). A few quick notes: (A) the game play was great - some additional twists that added to the game play, (B) the new heros were really cool (especially the angels. . . ), (C) the game designers have to be among the nicest in the profession, and, finally, (D) they indicated that there was a 90% chance it would be kickstarted and available early next year. There was also a companion game which was just as fun (random dungeon crawl game), AND will include minis that can be used with Arcadia Quest (and vice versa). Exciting times in the world of Arcadia! They were excited to learn that my six and 13 year old kids love the game and think it's the most fun ever!

What kinds of things can the angels do? Or were they just there for show-off purposes during your demo?
And what kind of twists were there?

They said at CMON Expo that it would be Kickstarted Q4 this year; If they say available early next year that means to me that this would probably be Kickstarted almost immediately after "The Others," which is set for September. Assuming a 30 day campaign for that, Inferno would launch at the end of October. Of course all this is just my speculation...

CMON, why must you want all my money?!

Can you give a little more detail on both points above for A. and B. What where the new twists added to the game? How do the new angels work in the new game when you get them? What cool things do the angels do or provide for you? Anything that surprised you with the new version, do the monster mechanics change at all with any of the new monsters?

thanks

We didn't get to play the angels in the demo (although we could have played one, the demo ended before we go there when my son knocked out my daughter's character), but Guilherme Goulart was our host and teacher and explained that Angels are very high powered characters that, once saved (they are quests in certain scenarios), they can replace your active heroes. Apparently you can repalce more then one, but not three angels, but there are consequences that might come back to haunt you. The game has damnation points it uses that allows extra attacks or dice, etc., but can come back to haunt you in a play scenario somewhat similar to the graveyard cards. The angels stats are better and their special abilities are very good.

They thought it would be kickstarted in Q4, but indicated that because the plastics were already done, they thought it could be turned around quicker than other games. That may not be realistic but they sounded hopeful.

As far as new heroes, there were a bunch of them. I don't want to ruin anything from the game for the designers. There is a Fat Belwas (and other SOIAF themed characters),a potion master, a trickster that messes with the opponent's upgrade cards, gandalf, and several others. The models were great (as usual). It felt like were were playing the same great game, with a new design and strategy. Really cool. Guilherme Goulart couldn't have been nicer, and you can tell he's really proud of the game.

So, you can replace up to two heroes from your guild with Angels? Did they specify how long you can exchange characters, or when exactly you can do so? I'm guessing probably during a rest action. It sounds like using the angels gives you damnation, I wonder how they explain that one. Lol.

Makes sense to to want to jump out early, but even having all the plastics done, personally I'd much prefer a kickstarter just for all the stretch goal goodies. But it's not really my decision.

I I gotta say, I completely agree about Guilherme, he and Thiago were quite awesome at CMON Expo. I was taught a bunch of different games by both of them
