Not so bad if I go via Pentwyn and then pick up Colchester Ave or come through Albany Rd but its still 7 in and 7 out with all the traffic as well 
I try to keep my trips into the city centre to a minimum i.e. once every few months if I can help it or go in earlt do what I must then get hthe hell out again
