Ok here’s the deal I’m going to get inked for the first time at the end of March. I have loads of ideas of what Id like to get but I cant decide on anything... So I got to thinking & have decided to hold a little contest
So here’s the idea..

You guy/gals post tattoo ideas here & at the end of next month Ill get it inked on me forever.. and hell Ill ever give the best idea a mini or 2.. but I think the real prize would be having your art on me.. cause lets face it I’m Awesome...

Some things you might want to know about me are.. I’m a father I really like wings.. I mean a lot...I’m a painter (not very good but I still call myself one) I like darker stuff..(in 40k terms I’m chaos ) I don’t know.. I think I’m rambling a bit now.. ok I’m done now

how about the chaos icon as a background in black then a baby with wings holding a paintbrush with paint dripping of, that kinda ties in with being a father painter and chaos lover

(i\'ll keep thinking)

hope i helped

Dont make an appointment till you are ABSOLUTELY POSSITIVE of what you want. How can you even have an appointment if you dont know what you are getting, hence how long it will take?

do what I did and get a female friend to do it with some indian ink, some cheap walmart sewing needles and about 4 litres of baileys.

I think tats should have a story attached to them.

Good luck with your inspiration.

Honestly my experience is that if you don\'t know what you want then you need to continue to think about it. I\'d cancel the appointment. I had the ideas for my designs in my head for about three years before I got them inked. I got the first one done when I turned 19 and then my second one done when I was 23. I knew exactly what I wanted but I wanted to make sure my taste didn\'t change.

Don\'t jump into it just because you have an appointment. Make sure it\'s something you want to and can live with for the rest of your life.

Honestly dude this is the dumbest way to get a tattoo done. No offense meant but if your going to put something on your body FOREVER do it right and get a nice clean lookin\' tat. Don\'t be stupid about it.

As someone who has a few tattoos, may I suggest taking your ideas (all of\'em) to an actuall tattoo artist and confer with them about what you\'ld like to see. Any good artist (tattoo or otherwise) should be able to work with you to achieve a great looking tattoo that incorporates your ideas, even if there are a lot of them.

Most good tatto shops will also do this type of advance work (design) with you without charging for the time as a \"value-added\" part of the entire tattoo charge. Just be carefull not to abuse this feature shouold they do it. It doesn\'t take long for shops to talk to one another and spread word around of someone who get\'s design work done at one place and takes it to another.

You may want to do something in stages or multiple tattoo\'s with a tied-together theme over a longer period of time if you have so many ideas. Talking with the tattoo artist will also allow them to let you knwo early on what is actually possible within the limits of level of detail and such. This is very important and one of the biggest complaints (that I\'ve heard from a number of tattoo artists), many people don\'t realize the scale sometimes when it\'s laid down on the skin.

Good luck and hope you end up with something you really like!

I was never thrilled enough with any piece of art or any company logo that I wanted forever on my body.

Here\'s what you need: PegaZus RuleZ!

You can add some actual pegasus (pegai?) around, with maybe a paint brush or two and some black paw prints going around it.

Yeah, man, that\'d ROCK!

i\'m too getting a tattoo soon. I am a very dedicated martial artist. I currently study japanese combat goju. I\'m getting the word GOJU on my left hand, one letter below each knuckle. Goju has a large significance to me. Translated it means 50 in japanese, or half. The essence of goju is hard and soft. Block soft, hit hard :D
I feel that is a good way to live your life, cant always be too stern or hard, and you cant always be to lenient or soft. having it on the left hand is important as well. The symbol of goju is the tracing of the founders left hand. Goju has taken me alot of places, kept me on track, got me inducted to the usa martial arts hall of fame in 07, won me many a tournaments, sponsors all the like, but...it keeps me away from the bad stuff in life, and keeps me focused and on track. So, having it on my body forever will help me to keep on track and in the right path.

Personally there isn\'t much I\'d get put on me forever, but one thing I would and since your a father it works for you. Find one of those tattoo artists that can do portraits and get a picture of your kid one that has the most signifigance, their baby pic, their first birthday party when they are smiling real big, one christmas when they were 5 and all excited whatever it may be. Your kids are yours forever thats why they are one of the few things I\'d have put on me forever. Just my suggestion :)

You also need to think about where you want it as this will have an effect on the design you want I think. Different things look good in different places.

I have a tattoo on my calf and I currently thinking about my next one. I didn\'t spend too long in deciding on the first but I have to say this one is taking a lot of thought and planning. I have drawn so many designs and haven\'t quite gotten there yet. I think fieldarchy is right about waiting a while after deciding on a design as it is strange how you can change you mind even thinking you have decided.

Is there a type of art you enjoy more than others or do you want a meaningful tat?
