Mr Gimlet is helping Mrs Saunders get a particularly large Christmas tree into the house.....

Mr Gimlet: \" It won\'t go through that door though. You\'re going to have to take it up the back passage.\"

Mrs Saunders: \"Watch my paintwork! Can you get your end away?\"

Mr Gimlet: \" It\'s allright, Mrs Saunders. Don\'t be afraid to give it a good pull... I\'ve got a good six inches my end!!\"

Finbarr Saunders: \"HUAARR, HUAARR, GAK, GAK, FNARR, FNARR, YUKK, YUKK!!!\"

@Equus
If you handle it correctly it stays wet remarkably long. Gives you plenty of time to work with it... :]

Well, see, I carefully stripped her until she was primed and ready to go...meanwhile I was trying to get myself ready with some pliers, wrenching this way and that, tugging as hard as I could when suddenly there\'s a POP!

...And there\'s a sticky mess all over the table, the floor, my recently stripped model, and me.

Now I\'ve got to spend an hour or so cleaning everything up, she\'s no longer ready, and I\'m spent...from all the cleanup!:innocent:

Yep...ranks up there with the bamboo skewers that I poke into the bodies of my resin models for painting.

True. Pliers aren\'t really my first choice, either.

Monkey wrench? lol

Chair or chaise lounge? With a chair you have better penetration into the deep, dark areas, but a chaise lounge is so more comforable...

...if your paint pots are right next to you. ;)

Who\'d you mug for that innocent look? ;)

@ Dawn - I do it at the dining room table. The kitchen is so much closer for the inevitable clean up.

I did that last night and it hurt! Oy vai, have I got a crick in my neck...:D

@Equus - the chaise lounge is on the screen porch near the kitchen, so one vote chaise lounge....(and so much more comfortable than the table)

Aye...as long as you have easy access to stuff that you can use to wipe the wet stuff off with. Running water also helps, if you can get to it before the stuff dries.

And I\'ve always had a hard time doing it while standing. I mean, you have to keep bending over to get a better angle. I\'ve always believed that the more relaxed and easy you are, the easier it comes.

True, but I also use a bunch of bright lights - I like to see what I\'m doing - and one of those swing-arm lamps with a magnifier so as not to miss an inch of detail. Gotta make sure every nook and cranny is paid attention to...

...it\'s a long, loving process that while I may not be as good as everybody else, I\'m willing to put in the effort and time needed to do it right.

Practice, practice, practice...

I always hate it when you go through the entire long and loving process only to realize that you\'ve made a huge mistake. I\'d see how being able to see everything would be helpful then. Gotta hate making a blunder and thinking you\'ve got a beauty until you get a view in good light.

Oh, I know EXACTLY how you feel! You start the night with a beautiful little thing sexily named Monique De Noir, and in the morning you wake up next to something calling itself \"Big Boris\".

Ewww!
