Inquisitor Lord in Terminator Armour

I posted this in the gallery but thought I\'d come here and see if anyone can throw some ideas my way.

I have only just started picked up the brush again after a 6 year gap :(

I wanted to do this guy, but couldn\'t find any thing suitable.
I used Captain Lysander\'s body , the Terminator Librarian\'s arms, and the head off of Cortez\'s DaemonHammer.
Ground off the Imperial Fists insignia off his right shin and off his chest piece and put green stuff Inquisitorial ones instead.
I am not entirely happy with these to be honest.
Sculpted on some hair to like it had been blown from under his Terminator armour.
I know his green stuff arm joint are shoddy at the moment.
He needs purity seals on him.
He needs a decent base.

Am I missing anything?
Any ideas would be greatfully received.
Didn\'t want to start painting until I had got the figure as good as possible!!

Thanks!!

looks like a great start there. you were right to post it here rather than the gallery. seems to be coming along nicely, dont forget to file/cut the gs to get sharp edges on the ]I[ symbol (specifically on the leg)

To be quite truthful, I\'m not sure if the head of the hammer looks to be big enough. From the pictures seem to be.... not menacing enough. Oh and purity seal, lots and lots, well maybe not that many. More if he\'s a demon hunter, and some \"holy\" scolls or keys (knicknacks) if he\'s a phycier. Looking good, like the conversion so far

To be honest Mud Duck, I was thinking that the hammer head wasnt looking big enough either.
I am not sure it looked fine on the Cortez Daemonhammer... but as it s on a long handle/staff... it does look a bit small.
Any ideas where I can get a larger more suitable one from ?
Thank you for the comments so far!

It\'s difficult to guage the size of the hammer on there from the pics, but would a hammer from a plastic Space Marine Thunder Hammer be any use?

Try getting your hands on one of the plastic hammer heads from the Warhammer building sets. They are rather larger than the one you have there.

Or a bit of sprue with some GS could do wonders for the hammer head here. I am curious as to the Book on the shoulder though. I suppose if its done with =I= iconography it may just be pretty sweet.

Thank you!
I shall have a look for the warhammer building sets!
The arms were off a Librarian so thats the reason for the book - but I was thinking the other day that an ]I[ on it or something would look better.
Then again, the Inquisition love their books of Daemon names and what not... guess I shall try some trial and error.
I shall have a look at the plastic thunderhammer in a moment!

Found a hammer head from the Inquisitor game from GW... its a lot larger as the scale is 54mm??

Failing that, I have found a Tau gun which I have chopped and need to cover in icons etc..

Any good ideas for doing purity seals?

I have searched and found a few tutorials... just wondering if there any new ideas floating about?

Purity seals are easy.

In fact I find them a good way to use up any spare GS or whatever if you have a blob left over after doing something else.

Simply roll a few small balls, squash them the thickness you want, and then indent roughly the circle.

For the paper parts I\'d use something like thick foil, or thin plasticard bent into shape using hot water.

Hi Puppetmaster, he\'s looking quite good mate,

i do have 2 suggestions that may help, the first is regarding the I on his chest, i think it would look more like the Inquisitor I if you added a small square of green stuff toward the top and to each side of the I (a small terminal screwdriver dipped in water is fantastic tool for making square shapes)

once you have the squares in the right place, cut a bit of plastic from a blister pack, dip it in water, and use it to depress two lines into the square this should give the impression of the =I= (your two depressed lines should leave 3 raised areas) The reason for using a bit of blister pack is that its much thinner than a sculpting tool and should look More delecate and subtle than making the lines with a tool.
if you dont understand what im getting at let me know and i will try to knock something up to show you.

my second suggestion is maybe bring his hairline forward slightly, the kind of small mohawk thing thats sticking out from under his hair looks a bit weird, But if your happy with it like that ignore me lol

hope this was of some help, looking forward to the painting:cool:

I was having a chat with my friend about that I last night. He thought it was sticking out too much, which I agree...

And I was hesitant about doing the sticky out bits from the I - because frankly I wasn\'t sure how to do it.

I shall give you a tinkle if my attempts dont work!!

As for the hair line.. I was going for a receding hair line... but probably could do with being brought forward a tad.

Will have a look when I get back to him after I have had 2 cups of tea ;)
