Inquisitor Retinue - looking for suggestions

I\'m hoping to start work on an Inquisitor Lord and retinue and intend to put 3x Acolytes in power armour.

I\'m hoping folks out there might have some ideas on a more interesting base option that simple Space Marine armour.

I have considered converting some SoB models but worry that even converted they\'ll feel too similar to the SoB squads to really stand out.

I will also have 3x Crusaders -- and have no intention of using the Crusader models. Any ideas out there for these? I see lots of options as I simply need big armoured fellas with shields.

I am the gallery browsing, picture downloading-est fool you\'ve ever met.

Unfortunately while this has given me a LOT of ideas as to how to convert an Inquisitor - sooo very many ideas! - I\'m still left in a slump for my Acolytes and Crusaders. The rest of the retinue I have (mentally) taken care of.

Here are a couple of the pieces I\'m looking at:

Add a shield in place of the staff, modify the sculpt a bit for a touch more inquisitorial goodness - Crusader

I would remove the heads and modify the armour for more inquisitorial goodness... but otherwise I like these two as my base so far. I like the artwork in the codex showing the axe with a burner in it -- hoping to sculpt that in place of the swords.

I also plan to sculpt the Chirurgeon from the codex -- I\'m using 2 so I may just use the GW model for the second as I\'m pretty fond of it.

In the interim I\'m still browsing the galleries, reading the GW retinue conversion articles, etc., and hoping to find more ideas.

So far nothing really seems to capture the fury and flavor of a Crusader for me.

Sculpting the mancatchers for my acolytes should be fun too -- I\'ve always thought those were a nasty weapon. Having a lot of historical images to browse through will make it interesting too.

mix in fantasy parts with sci-fi for crusaders like a bretonian knight with power sword and special shield and implants i dont play the game lol so some of that was guessing

I finally found models for my acolytes:

I\'m going to swap out the heads and sculpt the mancatchers. I\'ll add some inquisitorial touches and VOILA!

Still haven\'t found the right piece for my Crusaders yet though. Most of GWs pieces are so static and I really feel like this piece should have a lot of movement to it.

I just odered my first ebob armatures though so maybe...
