I have finally got around to starting this mini this week, after purchasing it way back in September at Gamesday UK!

Tis the Forgeworld Inquisitor, and is a very detailed sculpt. Heres how I am getting on so far...

I am hoping to get him finished by Saturday for a competition at my local GW store!!!
Thanks to JakeSH,s tutorial for the base, and I also followed Brokenblades recipie for his farseer cloak on his coat, starting from Chaos Black , then gradually mix with scab red and highlight with khaki. I am really happy with this, and is WAY better IRL (although I have a long long way to go to meet Joes level!)

The metal on the armour needs touching up and glazing down some more, but I am really stuck on colour choices for the cloth with text on his hood and scarf thing.

Any constructive critisicm and help most appreciated!

Great work so far - the base is particularly impressive and the cloak looks fantastic. For the trim, I would favour a pale brown -graveyard earth/desert yellow/kommando khaki - as a contrast to the darker colours, but that\'s just a personal preference.

Good luck at the comp

If its any consolation James, I dropped him today and his brittle resin pointey finger snapped clean off and dissapeared!

The stumpy knuckle was too teensey to drill into to put a pin in and sculpt a new one too, so having to sculpt a new one on the end of a thin paperclip. (actually its my second go at this, as my wife thought my first attempt looked like a 28mm dildo!)

Thanks ogrebane, I did not notice the mouldlines (even on a pic this size!)- always good to have a second set of eyes give opinions. Luckily the only noticeable one on the mini iswas on the (thankfully) unpainted gun holster and has gone now. The one on the protruding base rubble I will hide using the servo skull scroll (and it flukiley looks quite cool!), and the other one on the studded metal I shall keep as a stark reminder to pay more attention when cleaning up mini\'s!

Should have an update tomorrow, as its competition day!

Love the base shame about the lines on the riveted bit..snap the bugger off I say...shame to spoil the rest of the work..

look forward to seeing the finish and good luck in the comp.

My wife has tonsilitis, so I have been looking after her and our two year old son so not much progress with this today I\'m afraid, but on the bright side, some progress is better than no progress!

Theres no way I will get this done for my competition now, its in 12 hours, and I\'m off to bed now and will no doubt get woken at 7 by a hungry lil\'man!, oh well, Kind of relieved in a way as I am starting to get into this piece now and don\'t want to rush it, maybe I\'ll be done for this months golden toadstools. (and now I have time to re do the studded metal on the base too!)

I decided to paint the scripted scarf and front hood green for 2 reasons, firstly it reminded me a bit like something a priest would wear, and I recall these being green. And secondly, it ties in well with his loin cloth robes and provides a subtle contrast to the red.

The raised text has been basecoated snakebite leather and I plan to do this a yellow (I was going to do this gold, but I hate metallics on cloths, as you don\'t really see much metallic cotton.)

Looking good, Dave! The robes are fantastic. Make sure to highlight the yellowy script heavily on top of his hood :]
