Who inspires your mini painting? Cyril. Not only is his work the absolute most flawless possible, but if you look at his shading transitions you can see the myriad of subtle colours blended into the mix. I\'n my opinion he has the highest artistic talent of any mini painter I\'ve seen.Who do you look up to in the mini world? Oh, so many to name... Victor hardy, victoria, Goatman, Cyril, Bobby Wong, Haley, brother Sinaer (spell?), Sturmhalo, the list goes on and on! Who first taught you the mini painting gig? A man named Darren Lane. He ran painting classes at a hobby shop. I learned all the basics from the very start from him (drybrushing, assembling, priming, highlighting, gems, eyes...). He recently moved to Scotland to study.Whos advice do you follow most in mini painting? There really arn\'t to many people I know personally who paint minis. However, I\'d definately say my friend Graham, he\'s very... honest. When he thinks something looks like crap, he tells me. Later I\'ll look back on the things he moved me from and think \"man, I can\'t believe i considered that!\".Why do I keep asking questions?Boredom perhaps? Or maybe that just explains why I\'m answering them.

I started painting minis cause it looked like it was fun and relaxing. Then I ran into Lilliana Troy\'s work at a local game shop, my idea of mini painting changed. I saw it for the artistic endeavor that it was. I started exploring the web and have been inspired by so many others, including much of the work on this site.

But my main inspiration is Lilli, I watch her paint and get to see her finished work in person. Her work never fails to inspire me to try that much harder, plus she has helped me more than she knows through a few little tips and the chance to really look at her work! Thanks Lilli!

Who inspires your mini painting?

Hmm, a toughy, but most of my mini painting was and is inspired by a desire to put something on the gaming board that is painted, not bare metal.

Who inspires your mini painting?

Dirk Stiller, Eric Louchard, Michael Moorcock, Erol Otus and many others..

Who do you look up to in the mini world?

CJ Cummings and Ramon Laan... Great painters, sculptors, artists, and always encouraging. There are obviously more folks who ar every talented as well, but these guys stand out for me. Like Cyber mentors :D

Who first taught you the mini painting gig?

Me and the horrible paint jobs on the back of the old TSR box sets. I think I had Clerics and Druids, and Maybe Monsters, or something... and some terrible enamels.

Whos advice do you follow most in mini painting?

Mine. Actually, I take in almost everything, but inherently, I know what I need to do, I am just lazy :D Of course now, it has turned into so much more. I seek wisdom constantly with regards to commissions, Ebay, Photography.... Sheesh. My Alberta Painters group is small and invaluable to me.

Why do I keep asking questions?

Because they need to be answered...

I probably left a ton of folks out, but it is a quick list :D

Who inspires your mini painting?

Loads of things and people.Every time I see lord of the rings I wanna paint one up.Seeing something good here makes me wanna try something out.Currently Im liking the work of Vikinglodge. As well as lots of others.

Who do you look up to in the mini world?

I havent been around the mini world socialy for very long but I certainly appreciate the help Glyn gave when I first came to this site.I used to look up to the painter in the local GW until I took my four year old daughter in.She was looking at the display and he nearly had a fit \"TOO CLOSE TOO CLOSE\" he woulda got a fat lip if my kid wasnt watching.

Who first taught you the mini painting gig?

I taught myself from GW mags and guides.

Whos advice do you follow most in mini painting?

Any one who has the time to leave comments. Also my girlfriend ,seems like they are the best critics around.

Why do I keep asking questions?

Because you wanna be the best painter and figure the best way to do it is to keep everyone busy in the forums while you practice,or buy up the world supply of paint and brushes:eek:

Who inspires your mini painting?

Many people. Among them (no particular order though) Jen. Haley, Thomas Barse, Cyril, Allan, MINOS.

The last four people are very kind, and even if they are among the best painters in the world they are always ready to explain their tips.
And the way you can ask them tips is highly impressive... I have tutorials of Allan, Cyril and Thomas, and MINOS very often criticizes works on a forum, or gives away his techniques.

Who do you look up to in the mini world?
The persons above.

Who first taught you the mini painting gig?
Well, myself. That\'s why it was crap :D.

Whos advice do you follow most in mini painting?
Anyone\'s.... As long as I see the point they\'re making.

Why do I keep asking questions?
Do you really care? :D

So many questions...

Who inspires your mini painting?
Erm....almost everyone on this site does. Whether it\'s looking at the latest masterpiece uploaded on CMON, or reading comments that people have taken the time to leave about one of my figures. I do like Cyril and Sivousplays work and just can\'t fathom how Chrispy paints his so fast and they still look fantastic! Thanks to all of you for the inspiration.

Who do you look up to in the mini world?
My peers & that\'s you lot :D

Who first taught you the mini painting gig?
3 guys got me into roleplaying and gaming with GW figures, but I would say it was myself who gave me the inclination to paint them and to create my own *style*

Whos advice do you follow most in mini painting?
Anyone who\'s kind enough to give it!

Why do I keep asking questions?
I dunno.....why do you keep asking questions ???

Wow.

My mini painting inspiration comes from a ton of sources. Sometimes I watch a movie and think \"man, that would make a cool conversion, Imma give it a try\", so I see someone\'s model here and I want to ape the style, or I get fired up about a game or a campaign and need a bunch of models for it. I also just paint for the sake of painting to unwind after work.

Lots of people. I don\'t want to drop names (cause I\'m lazy and don\'t feel like picking them up), but I can also safely say they aren\'t all on the cannonical list of \"Super-uber-mega painters\" Mostly it\'s the people who are both good and willing to take the time to help out a total n00b, who are excited about painting and generally want to spread the good word about the hobby.

I first got painting minis some time ago when a friend asked me to paint some shadowrun figures for him. Kinda stuck. I wish I had pictures of those figures.. they were neat.. not a great paintjob though.

I look for advice wherever I can get it. :) Lots of people have different techinques that I enjoy. I don\'t want to get stuck in the rut of the style du jour, so I try numerous things. There isn\'t one single person that I look up to as far as painting style.

You ask questions because you want to know, and asking questions is a good thing. Especially good questions, like these. ;)

Cheers.

I will now conclude this posting by saying \"John Blanche\"
