The part that boggles me is it was the tattooist that was a fan and the guy who sat under the needle for two years really doesn\'t have a personal attachment to the imagery that\'s all over his back.

I have to agree with both of the above comments. Why have something put in you skin for the rest of your life which you have no personal investment in? Completly stupid.
