Welcome first of all,
Now you may find the articles on here very helpful as they are there for all levels of painting skill.
I would recommend going at it in stages, try layering first and as you get more adept at that you will find that you will start to blend naturally as you progress. The key is to keep your paints fairly thin, this gives more control over what you are doing with your paint.
As you get better you may then want to try adding things like retarder to your paint that will help with blending immensly.
Post WIP\'s in the relevant thread and ask questions and you will find a wealth of very talented people will be more than happy to help you.
I hope that helps Tim.
