Irdril of the Silent Arrow?

Right now im painting \"Irdril of the Silent Arrow\" and on left side of his head, under his hair the is something following his neck. I have absolutly no idea how to paint that sice i dont know what it is.

Can anyone help me out? Me friend thought it was a braid...
