My latest work is Draegyn from Privateer Press\' Iron Kingdoms range. I finally finished it after three unsucessful tries earlier ...
With this miniature it is almost like a love/hate relationship. The sculpt is awesome in my opinion and inspired by Fluffy\'s fantastic version I always wanted to paint Draegyn myself. Unfortunately the casting quality wasn\'t the best (to say the least). Starting to work on the miniature three times, getting frustrated, stripping it and letting it sit on the shelf for weeks ... this time everything was working against me again. I discovered new casting imperfections even after cleaning the miniature countless times, grainy primer, ... To complicate things even more I decided to use P3 paints for the first time in larger quantities (P3 paints are another love/hate relationship of mine - I am very pleased with how they \"work\", but I am never happy with the final look, feeling they are a bit too glossy). Except for the red inlay of the cloak and the base (where i used GW and Rackham paints), I used P3 paints exclusively.
Looking at the result I am very happy that I decided to push trough and finish the miniature. The pictures aren\'t the best though (of course ...).
Anyway, as always, feedback, tips and suggestions are appreciated
