This is my entry for this round of Iron Painter on Wyrd.
My camera-fu still needs a bit of work, but I\'m proud of the mini regardless :D

Any pointers you guys would like to share?

Cheers

It looks good. Nicely done with the smoke, really realistic effect. I would personally give the sand on the base another coat of paint. It looks unpainted.

It\'s a very neat and clean model, but I have some observations for you.

Firstly (and most easy to point out) The base is letting down the figure as you are showing good and detailed work in the Alchemist but not the base. That gives a \"I couldn\'t really be bothered\" or \"It\'s an afterthought\" impression.

Secondly; To me the pictures seem to be showing a lack of depth in areas where shadow tones should be stronger such as the armpit and close to where his beard lies agains the cloth.
This is very noticable with the Yellow ribbons(or whatever they are) as they are neat and tidy, but all the same tone. There is no variation for the lower parts close to the body.

My last observation is that perhaps the figure could use a third (tertiary colour) such as a TEAL (Hawk Turquoise) in a small (ok Tiny) amount just to add an additional visual balance.

Thank you for the pointers! I can see the mistakes that have been pointed out, and I will surely focus on that with my next miniature.
It\'s not very noticable, but I did attempt some NMM on the edge of the cloak (first time for everything:D), the main problem I had, was the positioning of the highlights, but it was quite fun to push my skills a bit!
