So...Chaps.
And Chapettes.

I finished this a while ago and promptly forgot about it, stupidly. It was a freebie for someone after a colossal f*ckup with timekeeping. That aside I have pictures and I want to show them to you, clearly, else I wouldn't be making this posting. The impetus was on making it look beaten up and used. So beaten up and used it is. I don't think clean would really work with an IW anyway, grimey, yes, we like grimey.

Finding an excuse to get a bit more red or blue into the color scheme (or base) would have helped break up the color scheme a little bit, but overall it looks very grimy, as you said :D Nice work!

There's blood crusted onto the chainblades, Marjedi =P The guy didn't want rust, he wanted dirty and used. I am but a humble servant.
Jericho, I was pondering just how to get more colour on it actually haha! After painting so much metal my brain was running on fumes! I'd wondered about maybe throwing a dead marine on the base but it would conflict with all the skulls. It's actually just dawned on me that I could have thrown a couple of SM helmets on it *facepalm*. Lesson learned and filed.
Thanks for the comments ;)

Very nice TBS, I like the limited, desaturated pallet whilst maintaining tight definition of the pieces :good:

Bloody hell BPI, was that in english? ;) Cheers.
I was trying to think of ways to make it look more battered, Tim. Beyond drilling and scratching it there wasn't a heap I could do. Since it's already got some dents sculpted in I only added a few bits so's not to overpower it. After that it was really just figuring a way to make it look tarnished. Not as easy as you might think on something that's about 99% metalics =P
Like Jericho said, I reckon a bit more colour in there so weather up would have helped add context maybe.

Oops :D At least I didn't hit you with a wall of text! I guess there's a balance somewhere between incomprehensibly terse and tediously verbose, perhaps one day I'll find it ;)

I do like your model though :good:

Cheers, B.

Haha, I had no say in this! I have been doing some other stuff though! Not actually painted a marine in ages. It's tabletoppy standard but i'll need to post it to keep you happy anyway, Skel =P
Glad you're liking it though chaps. Hopefully the boss will be suitably impressed also!
