i mean - it must be really the hell to do a whole army with the work every marine deserved done in this style, but i would really die to see a unit of those done this way.

Sick? I\'ll give you a sick Idea . . . . . .

Hell, that just difficult and time consuming - here are some sick ideas - and entire group of Space Marines painted as Hello Kitty figures (or how about Hello Kitty 40k?), a Space Marine Command group based upon the Village People, a Battletech Panther painted as either the Pink Panther (which is a mercenary unit) or as Hello Kitty, or a group of 40k Eldar painted as the Keystone Cops - Those are sick Ideas :innocent:

Iron warriors in NMM would not be too hard, if one used an airbrush... I was thinking the exact same thing a while ago for ANY army, since most wear armor or guns or spears and wotnot. Necrons would also be a toughie, since usually IW have that yellow/black bands . As for using bugs, one time when I told my friend that an OOP GW scorpion cost about $20 for my army, he suggested going out and killing one... I almost did, too. (I live in a desert full of Dirz, after all...) :p

\"a Space Marine Command group based upon the Village People\"

Wargames foundry produces some useful minis for that idea...

Dare you?

Hello Kitty Marines

A friend of mine has built a 1500 point army using Hello Kitty erasers as the heads for his Space Marines. Oh, and the dreadnought has \"fur.\"

As for the Villiage People idea... wouldn\'t they be more suited to be Emperor\'s Children? LOL

And on another note: I\'ve been working on a veterans squad of Catachan Jungle Fighters, where each model is made to look like an actor from Predator... All that\'s left is to finish the Dutch (Arnold), and find a way to make a clear resin Tyranid to represent the Predator himself.

On the same sort of tangent as well, I have a project planned for in the next year or so of building a Space Marine squad where each model is based on one of the characters in Akira Kurisawa\'s The Seven Samurai for my Japanese themed Space Marine force.

I forgot to mention the Tau Battlesuit I painted as commission work to resemble Jetfire, from the old Transformers cartoon...

Oh, and another idea, how about Tau done like Power Rangers or Voltron?

(for Badabb re; Catachans Predator)
Yeah, untill some company makes \"invisible\" minis, its DIY time.
Here\'s an idea I\'ve been working on if I can get ahold of a Copplestone Predator. It should work for the bugs too. (may have to be cast in parts)
A number of craft stores (and Wal-Mart) carry something called \"Precious Memories 3-D Gel\" and more importantly, the gell refills! (2.99 ea.) The stuff takes detail incredibly well and should work with resin. mix & pour 1/2 at a time in a square soapdish, and poof! -Instant mould. fill the mould with resin and have an invisible bug overnight.
Cool?

Is the \"Precious Memories 3-D Gel\" water based? If so, it\'s not going to work. I used a cheap mold material for making a cast of a quartz crystal, and it ended up looking closer to pumice due to air bubbles -- water and resin don\'t play well. I think that stuff is really only useful with plaster-like materials.

Fortunately I was intending to sand down the quartz cast to make a better looking/smooth crystal, so it wasn\'t fatal. Much cheaper than using my precious silicon mold material, too.
