Obviously Dave is not married. If he were, he would know that it is the husband that HAS to live with PMS. lol

WAAAHHH, don\'t shout! :D

Actually, no, no hangover. Being partly Asian I seem to have a different geneset which makes that: I get drunken faster and I get the hangover a fair bit earlier (within hours). :(

To get back to the subject (anybody know if azurmage is still reading this? Or has he/she been overwhelmed by the thread hijack and replies? lol). We had a similar situation over at the yahoo minipainter group. There were some people who hated the fact that there were non-painting issues dicussed at the list and we ended up asked members for their opinion. In the end it was decided that non painting discussions were allowed to a certain extent (so they do not overcrowd the on topic mails).
I think some members went over to another group that was painting discussion only. Well, current situation is that minipainter is one of the biggest miniature groups around and the other group doesn\'t exist any more. To few post, too little bonding and involvement. I\'ve seen this with some other \"pure\" groups too.

I think that off topic discussions are necessary to keep a group as this one alive. It\'s the only means to create some bonding which is important to keep the members\' involvement.
It\'s less of a problem with groups whose members can meet regularly since there the bonding is in real life.

The other thing is that a forum is better suited for a large volume of off topic discussions since it\'s divided in sections. So, if you\'re not interested, you can easily skip it. With a mailgroup you get the message whether you want it or not. That\'s why there is a restriction at minipainter.

Something else, er Tooshy, don\'t you think a marriage proposal might just work better if you don\'t say that thing about men being incomplete women underneath? lol By the way, did you find out anything on the history of that sword you mentioned in another thread?
