There's a couple we are currently deciding amongst, you can see them rotate on the main page. It's hard to get a feel without seeing it on the site so I put it up for my own reference, but feel free to comment.

Very bright and eye catching colors. They make it look a bit like something I'd see staring at me from the shelves of the kids arts and craft isle though.

But then, color advice from the colorblind guy with the black square as an avatar might not be the best choice.

Colour issues aside, I think the third is the most successful solution. I like the second too but I think the third one, being more compact, is probably more versatile.

Gah, I hate it when someone uses logic to turn me against my favorite! I liked the second one because of the underline on "not", but you're right about being compact.

Of the three the second and third are preferable to me. They lose the Star Wars element.

Of the second and third, the second loses much of the Warner Bros' element, with the background circle absent.

For further experimentation on a possible a fourth/fifth/eleventy first version... With the underlining brush stroke of the second, extended to serve as the underline of the "of", and curled around the text to provide the background border in the manner the background circle did.

Of that background circle, or squashed circle of the third, perhaps morphing the shape entirely - curling it about to provide a background for a curling brushstroke.

I wonder how the "stroke" element could be altered. I'm not sure, but it may be the orange stroke applied to it once all the elements are grouped together wouldn't be better applied to the text alone. So the stroke applied to the text doesn't blend withe stroke applied to the brush/background. Might be less saturday morning cartoon that way, dunno.

The colours do seem odd to me. They're not a combination I equate with anything so they have that originality instead of evocing something distracting, but not sure they do much in serving as suggestive of the "cool mini or not" name or hobby purpose. Perhaps the upper text (cool mini) could be rendered in a blue transition, with the "or not" rendered in the opposite, a fiery gradient. Whether smooth gradients, or manipulated to look like small paint strokes, or perhaps both - smooth on the "cool mini" and a less practised technique suggested by a streaky, flamelike transition on the "or not".

Not A or F. B and D; the green just doesn't work for me. C is okay... same with E. So that leaves G, the blue one.

And besides, this is Cool Mini, not Hot or Not, so the color works.

Oh man, flashbacks to many many eye exams...

...and failed color vision tests...

I'd have to go with E or G. E is more eye grabbing without seeming cartoonish (my issue with the yellow). G is more calming, hey maybe flash that one on the screen when topic start getting out of hand.

Here's what I was thinking of as an option to the violet/yellow:

And some others developed from the new ones above:

I don't much care about the colour but the black outlined text is a great deal easier for me to read, always a good thing for a logo! Einion, I like your one top right with the black outline around the whole, strengthens the brush drip particularly. Cheers, B.

Granddad!
E & G do stand out more but that's because the lettering is outlined in black
I've had a quick play around in GIMP, just doing some coloring in basically. I've only used the color palette you've got there already, I haven't introduced new colors

got some blank ones we can color in Unca Chern?

From noticing them on the homepage. I think the Blue one and the red one both look good (black background). Of the others, I like the bottom two posted by Einion. I think on a white backbround a thin black stroke helps.
