Is Oil a fossil fuel or is it one giant conspiracy theory?

I\'ll leave the research up to you, there are a number of interesting articles out there debating this and some sound plausable.

Don\'t just say yes because thats what you and everyone else has been told.

Yes, oil is a fossil fuel.

There are several \"Levels\" of fossil fuel

Coal & Lignite - the solid, carbonised remains of solid trees and plantlife

Oil - The liquid hyrdocarbons of softer life, raw crude oil can be separated out into thinner fuels like Kerosene, Diesel and petrol.

Gas - can usually be found above oil, as a sort of \"bubble\"

That\'s all the detail I can bothered to go into right now :D

What is it with all these polls, lately?
And what kind of oil?

Olive oil? Not a fossil fuel.
Corn oil? Not a fossil fuel.
Mazola? The jury is still out on this one.
Crude Oil? On its own, is it? Or does it have to be refined to become a fuel?

hmmm, im not actually sure, because of green island. They ran out of oil and shut the wells down, when they went back 20 years later there was more oil than before. And hasnt oil been found on one of saturns moons? scientists now think its methane under extreme pressure. not a scientist though, just what i read, correct me if im wrong ^_^

I\'m convinced after reading the articles. The \'fossil fuel\' bit has been put forth by OPEC and propagated by the governments to help control oil pricing and keep the price up to line more pockets.

This is just more proof that the moon landing was faked. :drunk:

They\'re both hydrocarbons, they just have a slightly different molecule chain.

EDIT: Incidentally, regardless of the replenishment of natural resources, we should ALL be moving ahead with more fuel efficient and cleaner power. Nothing bad can come of seeking better ways of doing business.

Besides, there are more and more people on this Earth every day. More and more people are buying cars, homes, and appliances. More power and food WILL be needed every single day. Where is it all going to come from? A power grid that\'s already pushing maximum capacity? An oil company that\'s already struggling to keep up with demand? Pick up a paper, or better yet, listen to world news on PRI. Open your eyes and see what\'s going on in the world around you rather than listening to the same man on TV every day.
