[Hinton]

I got this mini as a gitft from another painter (who shall remain anonymous for now), so I hope I did it justice.

I took these pics with my new camera, so they\'re a little off since I\'m still trying to get used to it and the settings.

the skin is nice, albeit a little flat. the hair, also, could do with a bit of highlighting on top. it also looks as if there is some flesh from the left foot on the rock. great little base - are those little rocks in the water? any chance of a shot looking down?

yep me to.
I think you have the basics down, clean, neat, thin paint. Take that extra step and be bold, you could be great

@schmack: Thanks. I do need to work on doing what I feel I should do; many times I won\'t do something simply because I think it may not be right. I will try to be bolder in the future.

yep i would say you need to work on the highlights the most. i however love the base. the water effects just seem real with everything. great job. voted and stuff.

Nice! I\'ve voted... but I must agree on the shades and highlightning - go further. On the other hand the base is fantastic with rubble in the clear water and everything...

Hey, you made some serious progress Hinton


I like the base, If you made the rock yourself, It could use more accidentals, I don\'t see many
rocks that size that look this flat (Especially the front side; if it\'s a natural rock, a complete painting process can make the features pop out.

Thanks for the comments, especially about the water. This was my first time trying water effects, so I was kind of nervous as to how it would turn out. I\'m glad that people are liking it.

@GreenOne: The rock is the base the mini comes on, so no, I didn\'t make it. I tried to do some drybrushing to give it a bit more texture, but I suck at drybrushing.

I think she looks really good, and the water turned out really well, especially for a first time effort.

I think It looks great. I\'ve been sitting on that model for some time, so I know how small it is.

I think every one has said what is needed - more contrast. But other than that its great. Klute did a female skin painting class on here quite a while ago which is an excellent resource.

Thanks for the info Duande; then I guess extra contrast would help it look more natural.
Drybrushing wont work much with so little texture, so it can be completed with a serie of washes, and plain old layering.

I am considing getting some of those HS female minis myself

I\'ve got this model and haven\'t painted it yet. I really like the base water affect. Great job with the rocks under the surface. The skin and hair could do with some shading to give the fig some depth. The skin tone is nice and even but I think the areas between her breasts and arms should be darker. Good job.

@GreenOne: The Hasslefree minis are pretty cool and I have Duende to thank for sending this one to me. It\'s the first mini I\'ve painted outside of Reaper miniatures, so I\'m indebted to her for expanding my horizions.

@phil: Thanks. I\'m hoping that with all of the great feedback that I\'ve gotten with this one that all of my minis from here on out will have much better skin tones.

Nice work Hinton! I\'d agree with the others that it needs a bit more in the way of highlighting, especially on the hair, but having said that, it could be the photo not doing it justice.

Love what you\'ve done with the base- great improvement on the usual \'bog standard\' Isabelle bases I\'ve seen.

Thanks, Ayla. Some of it is the photo, but mostly it\'s just my highlighting problem (i.e. not taking them up high enough). Working on it, though.
