Yes, boys and girls, I'm talking about personal injuries.

I've been excited and motivated about a few of the figs that've been on my WIP desk for awhile now. Actually got some paint on 'em, and was hoping to spend some time this weekend, maybe even finish one.

And then I went and crushed a finger.

Was doing some yard work, cleaning out a bunch of concrete that used to be a raised flower-bed wall. Was tossing a particularly awkward (and very heavy) piece of concrete into the bed of the pickup when it all went down...

The bottom of the block caught on a chunk that was already in the bed, and it stopped before I wanted it to. It also made the piece I was holding unstable, which caused it to tip. By tipping, the concrete trapped my hand between itself, and the bed of the truck. For about .3485 seconds. Which, as it turns out, is just long enough for all the blood vessels, veins, and meat to get squished into a pulp.

Now, if this was on my left hand, I wouldn't mind. Wouldn't have been the smartest thing I've ever done, but it would've been something I could live with. But it wasn't my left hand. It was my right middle finger that took the brunt of it. And being right handed... everything is impacted.

I have this bulky splint keeping my finger protected while it heals, now. I can't hold a pen, paint brush, I can hardly type or use my mouse (my job is very computer based), and I can't even play disc golf this weekend.

I'm very bummed
