i\'ve been here for more than a year and i have still to reach senoir membership... maybe because i did not quit with smoke yet? ???

it never really goes away....
I have been a \"quitter\" for about 4 years now. I still get the \'urge\' every now and again, especially if I am out and having a drink or two.
Just remember that if you have even a \'puff\' you might as well go and buy a whole carton, and throw away all the hard work you have done.
I had quit once before for about 5 years, and still fell right back into it after just a quick cigarette.

Being a CMON freak is a dubious accolade, but quitting smoking is a real cause for celebration
I gave up 14 years ago, and never get the slightest twinge. My wife still smokes but I make her go outside...whatever the weather...\'cos the smell makes me feel ill now.

Again, thanks all. Been kinda hard not being depressed around here lately. Lose your holiday for a hurricane, spend all your vacation money on plywood and hurricane supplies. Then each weekend, another one.
@Tammy, I had already conceeded defeat. I was just waiting for the right time to make that last post.
@vike, I know what you mean about having one and being right back to a pack a day. Just like an alcoholic, I cannot have another one.
@Greymane, hang in there. I have faith you can do it. My biggest help was an accountablity partner. That is a friend that will ask me every day if I have had a cig or not. Wellbutrin didn\'t hurt and neither did the patch.

Yup, my wife still smokes as well, and I do the same with her (make her go outside)....Plus it gives me a little thrill when it is really cold out, and I \'accidently\' lock the door while she is out...

:flip:Way to go Airhead!! and a special Congratulations to the Airhead family for surviving the ordeal. My parents quit cold turkey and for those first few weeks, talk about touchy ..I still have the “snap” scars to prove it.
