Sorry. Am interrupting the usual pleasant banter to complain.

*start whine*

not like Fay flooded buildings or ripped off roofs here in Orlando, but it has been raining non-stop since Tuesday! Literally non-stop. My house is beginning to mold! Forget any priming! The paint won\'t dry! My dogs are going seriously stir-crazy. Lucy was on strike for about the first 24 hours - refused to poop in the rain. And all my fruit trees are starting to seriously list as the sand gets soggier and soggier - I have some of them tied to the neighbor\'s fence!

*end whine*

now returning to the usual programming.

I hear you.

The pond by my house is now out on the street. Gotta go around the back way to get home.

Our parking lot at work is curb deep - nearly a foot in the middle. We\'ve not had a day off yet, but we\'ve had an office full of kids as they are out of school again.

Ok, my turn to whine

[whine]

We haven\'t had rain in ................ lord and can\'t even figure out how long it\'s been! It\'s so dry that I\'m going through a bottle of moisterizer every 2 weeks and my hands are still cracking! I drink about a gallon of water a day (no lie) and I still wake up in the morning feeling like I have a desert in my mouth. Please god, give us a little rain!

OK, now I feel a little guilty for whining. My neighbor pointed out that I should look down the road a bit.
This is just 2 blocks down from my house:
That middle part is the street under water. This water level has actually already receded from last night when we drove down to look:

Close-up of the house on the right:
Hard to see, but that\'s a reflection of the house in the water. Their livingroom must be under at least a foot or two of water:

makes me glad we opted for the high ground, and passed on the lake front house we almost bought!
Another view if anyone\'s interested.
Oh, and it finally stopped raining last night, though it sprinkled today....

LOL! You\'ve never lived in the Pacific North West, have you? We get rain here for three months straight. But, if you\'re looking for someone to blame, remember that Al Gore created global warming. ;)

Worse...I visited Portland in mid summer. The weather was gorgeous! We were warned that such visits could cause inappropriate relocations!

Now, I must clarify and defend us Floridians a little...it normally does rain every day here in summer, a good 4-5 months out of the year (except for the last few years \'cause of drought). That\'s fine, don\'t mind that one bit. It\'s been the 100+ hours straight with no break that\'s beginning to wear on the nerves!

100+ hours? England last year got 300% of its normal yearly rainfall...that takes some beating. the flood damage was terrible.

Meh.

First time I was here, it rained every damn day from 1 Nov to late Feb -

And it looks like the same kind of weather is headed this way again this year.
