Ok, I can understand a D&D movie - Even Street Fighter or Mortal Combat. But MONOPOLY??????

Why not, a movie was made of Clue, wasn\'t it? Besides, it\'s not like movies need much of a plot. And it\'s Ridley Scott, for me that\'s enough said.

Whatever it is, it\'ll certainly be different.

Guys, Even Clue has a plot beyond circling the board amassing property.


Besides, there has to be something else that he could make - hell even stereo instructions might be more exciting. And less despirate to pander to a manufacturer to drive up game sales.

I\'m trying to pull my jaw off the ground on this one. It\'s not April 1st again, is it? I\'d rather sit through a two hour movie of someone READING stereo instructions than a Monopoly movie! I\'d even sit through the foreign language version subtitled.

It said it\'ll be a comedy thriller. AND! AND! And they want to use the movie to ATTRACT teenagers to board games! Seriously, what plot could possibly be used?

A) Life history of a property baron, rising from rags to riches? Nah. Teens will pass.

B) Some sort of Mad, Mad, Mad, World reworked into Monopoly setting? First team to purchase a hotel wins? That smells right. Right for a huge flop.

C) Mr. Moneybags shows up to take the kiddies on a round the world tour of his hotels and rent houses? Maybe they should get Mike Myers. He might still have the Cat\'s Hat.

D) I\'m trying to think of something with Chance and Community Chest cards, but nothing I come up with would get less than an X rating.

Seriously, any other ideas that might stink less?

oh c\'mon, \"candyland\" is the shiznit! selling pop rocks on the corner. busting caps in gummy bears and peeps in the lolipop woods. bumpin\' down gumdrop mountain with princess frostine, pimpin.....it just oozes modern crime thriller (and gloppy the mollasses monster).....you know, that might be cool if burton did it...OH! There was \"Chess\" the musical so it could happen. Just looking at the the two actresses being touted - Scarlet Johansen and Kirsten Dunst - I\'m wondering which one\'s going to be the little dog and which is the old boot lol Maybe they\'ll go for a Jumanji style film where the players get sucked into the dangerous virtual reality world of property management being chased by an iron and a top hat!
