Jedi Mind Trick

With the pasting of Jazz\'s dog, a question on dogs, and pets in general comes to mind. How well do small dogs pull off what in my family is known as the \"Jedi Mind Trick\" I.e. Your eating at the table, the dog comes up, sits next to you , and in the case of all the dogs in my family be larger dog and able to be nose level to food, start looking for you to your food and back, then staring at you and implanting these words. \"The dog likes food. The dog likes the food that you are eating. You will feel the dog that food.\"
So my question is this. Do smaller dog have this ability, or do go for the barking, bouncing, noisy technique? Does anyone have a cat that has mastered this?

Cats just take it.

The animal lately that surprised me in the mastery of the jedi mind trick for food is the DUCK!

Was by a fishing pool today, sat on the bench to be surrounded pretty quickly by about 80 ducks (and of course no camera). Was eating my sandwich and trying to have a phone meeting at the same time (quite difficult to a quacking cacophony) to find one duck almost sat on my foot just staring at me. Then facing my sandwich, nodding a bit, and staring back at me.

Its powers were strong - it got most of my sandwich.

Yes my dog has this power. He\'s smaller about 25lbs at most. And I tend to eat while I\'m watching tv sitting on the couch. (my only table is my painting table and well that has paints on it) Anyway, he gets on the couch too, sits down with his two front paws outstretched, wagging tail, ears perked up and then he starts licking his chops. He never ever barks or whines or anything. Just sits there.

Sometimes it works, most of the time I seem to have figured out how to use my mind shielding powers. :)

My current cats lack Jedi Mind powers - although I used to own an Oscar (large fish) that would stare at people as they came into my apartment and try to get them to join him in the tank for a little snack.

My dog does that, she\'s a fluffy adorable kind too. My fortitude has grown , however! Everytime she stares at me now she\'s met by a mighty cry of \"F**k off!\"...it\'s taking less attemts to get her to move now lol One day!!! *shakes fist*

As an aside I actually stare at her when she eats her dinner now...Yeeees....

Has your dog offered you any kibble, TBS? Or is your dog still using the good old fashion technique of running \"Louie Louie\" in it\'s head?
