Hello everybody,

First off I wanted to say thanks to everyone who\'s voted on the model so far.

Anyway I was really pleased with how this model turned out, and the voting has gone steadily downhill for the last couple of days (0.5 points per day it seems) and worse still no comments! Well, one very much appreciated one anyway

The numbers don\'t mean as much to me as opinions, so I figured the forum was the best place to go for C&C because I really want a bit of feedback before I do a unit of these time consuming little conversions.

I\'m quite happy with the color combo as well. The original plan called for teal hair tendrils, but then I also wanted to use teal for the tabard... problem. No contrast (at all) if I did that. The custom mix of turquoise I\'m using is really turning out nice on the models I apply it to.

So in the end I picked the segmented worm thingy I tried on Drycha a couple months ago. Strange, but I like it. Might go 1 or 2 hilights higher though, it could use a bit more sharpness on the segments I think. Sound good?

Its a great mini. The colours are really vibrant and strong, the blending looks good. Personally I would add more highlights to the tendrils/hair.
The photo could do with being sharper but apart from that I would be more than happy with the job you have done.
Dont ever let the voting on here get you dishearted its not the be all and end all of miniature painting.

Ok I was having a dumb moment as I couldn\'t see where the conversion was. D\'oh.

Nice and clean conversion with a good colour balance.

This looks great! very well done conversion, and superb painting! The only thing I would reconsider, is changing the colour of the rim of the base to a black or a dark brown. At the moment is clashes to much with the dryad itself.

One 13W day glow lamp and a sheet of unlined printer paper, combined with the glorious Photoshop CS.

Anyway to answer some questions, the segments of the tendrils/hair are not in fact sculpted on, that was just my idea to paint them that way. I\'ll go back and add 1-2 more hilights to this chica when the next batch gets painted.

Getting a better photo isn\'t a bad idea either, I saved the first one right after resizing the image, with no sharpen filter. So it\'s been \"sharpened\" between compressions which means there\'s a fair amount of artifacts in the image now

Regarding the rims, they are gaming pieces and all the army has green bases. I might change them to black at some point, but for the moment it looks good for the army as a whole to have the green bases. Maybe from now on I\'ll take pictures before I do the green rim

Excellent work, much better than the original Dryads. Now why didn\'t GW think along these lines instead of those fragile sticks they produced? Painting really pops; well done. Voted with a 9.

I have no idea what they were thinking making them plastic... they woulda looked way better in pewter. The concept was sound but the plastics are funky.

Well I suppose I\'m glad that someone said it, might be sort of theraputic for anyone too uptight to even admit that they could think about banging a tree lol
