JoeK Mini Lottery

Shamelessly plundering the idea from other mini companies (and they know who they are ;) ), Angel Giraldez has painted up one of the Elf Lord figures for JoeK Minis, and I'll be holding a lottery/prize draw-type thing for it. If you've already bought one, you'll have noticed the numbered certificate. Now, that silly bit of paper becomes very important. As soon as the 300 run sells out, I'll be getting some random stranger to give me a number up to 300, and whoever has the number will get this gorgeously painted figure as a prize!

So, pop along to joekminis.com for more pictures and details. Oh, and - y'know - buy one!

Good luck!

Awesome mini but...

I want one of these and will be buying one but credit should be given to the original painting by Michael Whelan from the "Stormbringer" novel art??? This miniature has been sculpted exactly representing that artwork and there is no mention of Elric or Whelan anywhere...

I think it's obvious where the idea for the figure came from, but until I hear back from both parties involved (and despite repeated attempts at contacting them, nothing's been forthcoming from them), I have to claim ignorance. Believe me, I've been waiting the best part of 6 months for some sort of acknowledgement.

If they suddenly call up and call 'shenanigans' on the whole thing, then I close it down. Simple as.

Yeah I don't see any problem really, I just figured a mention would have been cool, but bet to play low key since they won't respond. I was lucky with my dealings with Erol Otus myself... I had posted pictures for fun and he emailed me out of the blue and I thought I was in hot water... Of course I wasn't and everything turned out great!

I love the mini though, and seeing any representations of the White Wolf is refreshing!!! Like I said, I'll be buying one for sure!

Thanks Glyn. I think the problem is that both the creators involved don't keep their emails for the general public to use (fairly obviously I guess :p ), so you have to go through their agents. So you are kind of left hoping they'll get back to you! Still, one impending release has no such problems. The creator was incredibly nice enough to give me full use of his stuff. However, that'll have to wait for a little while!

Joek, you can reach Michael Moorcock through his official web site - www.multiverse.org. Just go to the Q&A section and ask him directly for permission. (You will have to register but I'm sure you'll be able to get a response from the man himself.) Hope it all works out; it's a great figure.
