John Titor...

Anyone heard the name?

I just got wind of this guy today and I am having a hard time collecting my thoughts on him. I think what I\'m most amazed by is the number of people who espoused (and continue to) his allegations and stood by them as truth. Because of course, a time traveller who wanted to reveal himself to the world would do so on a number of internet forums and never actually reveal his true identity. What REALLY kills me is that to date almost NONE of his predictions have come to pass and a large number of people STILL argue for the kook\'s legitimacy.

I won\'t even get started on the scientific inconsistencies.

Btw, I should tell you all that I\'m an alien from the planet FrootardX and I\'ve been sent here to steal all your earth boobies :D

Check this guy out click

I love along with all his \"Wackyness\" hes got a banner add for a grand opening sale at Crcuit city :p

Never herd of the guy and other than my first quick looksie..I wont be back..

Oh yeah, John Titor!!

I love his story....I stumbled onto it a few years ago on one of those \'unexplained mystery\' forums.

It really is quite compelling. And a fun way to kill an hour or two reading up on the forums he was on.

For those of you who have never heard of him...he \'appeared\' on a forum called ABOVE TOP SECRET claiming he was from the not too distant future. He was quite thorough in his detailed story, and fielded questions for months from some very critical folks.

I believe he also appeared on the very wacky \'Coast to Coast\' radio show back when Art Bell was on.

I really like fiction when it crosses closer to \'non-fiction\'...where there are just enough elements that make you go hmmmmm...

Now, don\'t get me wrong, I think its a load of croc too...but it sure is fun to pretend.

Yeah, I was listening to said wacky radio show this morning, which is where I heard of the guy. I don\'t think he ever appeared on the show in person though...or for that matter anywhere else.

I\'ll say one thing for the guy...he seemed to have a pretty good working knowledge of several complicated fields: retro-computing, quantam mechanics, washington politics...that kind of thing. lol

That\'s the kind of stuff I was talking about in a previous thread. People get so serious and defensive about this stuff.

Oh yeah, i think yer right!

He never appeared on the show, it was just him as a topic.

The bit about how he had to go back in time to like 1975 for a specific and little known part of a IBM for some computer glitch they had in the future is very cool.

Yeah:

Military: \"The world has descended into a United States civil war that ultimately led to WWIII and worldwide nuclear apocalypse killing 3 billion people and changing life in the USA forever. Pretty much all water is polluted and unsafe for drinking and you can only trust food that you grow yourself.\"

John: \"so you want me to go back in time and warn others to stop before the impending doom strikes?\"

Military: \"well...\"

John: \"oh...you just want me to go back to collect safe provisions like clean food and drinking water?\"

Military: \"what? uh...no...uh...our computer froze up and we need you to go back in time to get an old dusty IBM 5100 that has a little known capability to debug UNIX. Then we want you to preferably come back 10 minutes ago so that we can fix the problem before it happens...Halo 11 waits for no man...we need to get our game on.\"

John: \"yes sir. for the country sir.\"

lol:flip::bouncy::flip:lol

All I can say about Mr Titor is it\'s good to have a rich fantasy life but you have to be careful about the boundries between reality and fantasy. :wow:
