Judge me not by my size

I put this little diorama together for WAMP's Hasslefree contest. I've always wanted to paint some of their 'pirate' kids and picked up a grymn because all the minis had to be from them for this contest.

I replaced the kid's blade with a cylindrical piece of styrene and the set pieces are all from GW. I used my airbrush and the new weathering techniques I picked up to paint the base and barrells. The spilling fluid is some water effects that I mixed some old GW black ink into.

Doing the glow effect for the lightsaber was difficult because of the existing orange color on the floor from the rust. It looks great from some angles, but from others it blends into the floor.

All in all, I'm very proud of it.

I believe it's because of the brown and orange colors that already exist in the floor. I did the rust effects first, then masked and sprayed on the metallics, then weathered them. No matter how much I built up the red, it still blended in oddly.

I think it needs to go closer to white where the tip comes close to the floor, but as Freak said Shawn is the guy with OSL expertise.
