Im about to gently open my clock with a claw hammer, reason being, I\'m after the gears in its works.
Might anyone know where I could get similar gears without having to kill my only alarm clock?

Yard Sales. Look for watches, clocks, odd machinery bits, kitchen tools, etc.

Dollar stores are often a good source of stuff you don\'t mind smashing as well.

That was just two selections out of a very long list.

I am sure if you search deeper you can find somewhere doing singles after all most craft shops probably sell them as they are a bit like the dolls house hobby as well as others.

A couple cheap, plastic kid\'s toys from your local supermarket or drug store would probably do the trick.

Little pull back \'n\' go cars or anything with a toothed pullcord to make it go zoom is probably chock full of little mechinization gizmos.

Ok, slow person alert!
I\'ve got a severe fascination with gears and cogs and the like, I have spotted some steam powered babies and mushrooms, are they scratch built, or can you buy them?

Could be some of Shawn\'s stuff. He seems to sculpt a lot of stuff for Armorcast.

Check out: http://armorcast.com/store/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=mushroom&x=0&y=0

You used to see loads of auctions on eBay for old watch parts and gears, but when a few people who make Steam Punk themed Jewelry got wind, the auctions now get bid up pretty high.
