thursday night (yes, 1 night before opening)..8 pm screening at AMC Kennedy/401 in toronto...

My non spoiler review....I loved it...but there were 2 things missing, that I think hardcore fans, and fantasy fans would have wanted...
Also..it\'s long...I think 2.5 to 3 hours somewhere (the other 2 films though were I think 2.5 anyways)....and there is a lot of stuff, so you gotta pay attention to not get confused (most people!)

oh well :)

Also, stay till after the end credits..just like Pirates 1 and 2, there IS a scene after the end of the credits.

shit we just came back but we walked out before the blooming scene.... guess we will find out somehow.
What did you think was missing, ?

It was a busy film some good some bad effects, but fun none the less... becca swooned as norm.

I went to see it two days ago (dressed up like a pirate even :D a Guybrush Threepwood sort of character).. Not overly impressed, but really, it was pretty much what I expected. The plot was a bit too messy and OTT and it sort of lacked the \"feel\" of the first movie, but the CG and effects were awesome of course.

This might get me killed but I think Johnny Depp\'s performance in these films is overrated...

yeah

he\'s good...

i loved johnny dep\'s performance in the first..the later 2..i think (even partially in the first)... jeoffrey rush stole the show.

Youhave to pay attention for part 3...i don\'t think that it\'s convoluted, but there is so much double crossing since each character has it\'s own plan/goals...(think of it like a messed up D&D party)..so everyone is making deals, etc to try and figure out what they are doing...

arrrrrrgh pirates 3 be crappy. hated it, and im a man who loves a bad fantasy movie. seems like it couldve been about two hours shorter than it was. i was bored stiff.

i know both previous films well, and some stuff was just out of the blue.

It went on for a bit longer than it should have. if i start to squirm in my seat then it\'s gone on for too long.
It\'s not hard to follow really IMHO, i managed to follow it easily.
the final battle scene was truly awesome. as i play Exalted (an over the top RPG) i found it to be perfect. it was just so insane. it got a bit confusing, but overall i wasn\'t worried about it. 3.5 of 5

I agree with the 3.5/5 kinda rating I\'ve been seeing everywhere for this movie. None of the sequels compare to the original.

This one had tons of piratey double-crossing and whatnot, but I wasn\'t a huge fan of how \"mature\" the sequels were compared to the first one. Elizabeth Swan was a lot more sexual in this last one, and that\'s just not cool when there\'s a lot of young kids in the theater. Dead Man\'s Chest and At World\'s End were both enjoyable and had some fun twists and turns (not to mention tons of enjoyable secondary characters and great special effects), but I\'m not sure I liked the stylistic direction the series took after the first. Zombie pirates are one thing, but fish pirates are another :p

At the end of the day the Pirates of the Carribean series is one of my favorite franchises, one of the few where I welcome as many sequels as I can get.

Jack Sparrow is getting franchised...

I read in a paper recently (i don\'t remember which one) that Johnny Depp was quoted to have said that he would love to do the fourth PotC movie and that he wanted it to be just as madcap as the others. I think we\'re gonna see the new Street Fighter of movies here. and for those who don\'t understand that it means we\'re gonna see a million and one crap films touting nothing more than maybe one or two new locations and characters.
