Just got dremel - which bit to use to grind away detail on a resin model?

The larger the diameter of the bit, the less control you have.
The slender tapered bits allow me to work without having a bit snag and leave tracks all down what I'm working on.
You may have to stop and clean the bits if you're working on resin.

None of the above. Most are too abrasive and moving at too high of a speed. You're going to cut gouges in the resin doing it this way. Believe me,.. I work almost exclusively in large scale resin kits. You want to use small jeweler's type hand files for removing bulk and/or "roughing out the patches",... and 600 grit (or finer) sandpaper for final shaping and smoothing.

hey thanks.
i tried the bit on the right....

and its working perfectly. around 10K rpm it eats through it. there are some gouges as you mentioned but that's fine. I'm literally, gonna resculpt the entire thighs, etc since the skirt the model has before, covers all that. Essentially, entire waist/thigh/knee area will be new :)
