I an a forensic facial reconstruction specialist (a big title for what used to be called a forensic artist or police sketch artist), except I am not a policeman, and I don\'t do sketches. I reconstruct faces on skulls with clay or by drawing them; reconstruct future faces of missing persons or fugitives, and reconstruct faces of bad guys from the memories of their victims..thus an all around forensic facial reconstruction specialist. I also teach forensic workshops and am a practicing artist. Oh, and I will complete my certification this year in criminal behavior profiling, and I must say I have seen some very interesting threads in the forums. :D:bouncy::flip:

@anatora. That\'s a coïncidence. I was hoping to run into somebody who does facial reconstructions. Over at the society of figurative arts, where we study artistic anatomy, there was a question on facial structures and features of different ethnic groups. I was wondering if you can perhaps help out there. The thread is over here: http://www.tsofa.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=152

And as not to hijack the thread, I\'ll get back on-topic straight away.
@MarkusTay. I don\'t know how it is with the others but I found that I\'ve always had the need to balanc the artistic and engineering part of me. I used to do scale modelling as my main hobby and drawing as a side hobby (mostly at school in art classes). This changed when I became an engineer. Scale modelling is too close to that so first drawing became my main hobby and then miniatures.

So what\'s the verdict, Anatora? Is Fizl really likely to hijack a truck of mini rolls?

Alright, lads, time to move on, CMON is being watched...:bouncy:

I\'m a self employed quality engineer.
I mostly work with medical machinery and software, though I\'ve done work on audio equipment too.
On the side I\'m a pyrographer (woodburning), soap maker and painter. I didn\'t start painting mini\'s till Christmas.

I want a raise too ;)

Used to do a lot of different things because I didn\'t really knew what I wanted.

As of a year and a half ago I started a new education which will enable me to work with children who have learning difficulties. (it\'s a bit on the backburner right now cause I have concentration difficulties and some other problems, which some of you know off...But on the possitive side I finally found what I wanted to do!:D )

Well I hope that you get to enjoy it.
And whatever your dreams of the Theatre/Stage/Acting I hope that they are the ones which come true.

Anatora your job always seemed magical to me, it\'s just amazing what you\'re able to do with the time and care.

My day job is as a Project Producer/Manager for high finance events, hedge funds, etc...which is fun but the main perk being the free trip to NY or DC every month.

My other job is this graphic design business I started back at the beginning of the year which is now thriving pretty well. It\'s my hope to eventually be doing well enough that I can drop the day job and just focus on this one, as only having 1 job has it\'s perts. As does being your own boss. :)

So I use a little bit of artistic energy to make money, although graphic design isn\'t the most artistic thing out there.

Yup, this is the third what do you do thread that I have posted to.
I am a Child Care Provider. I have an in home daycare. I get to stay home all day and play. I get to be very artistic and creative with my job, I am an excellent fingerpainter.lol
I use painting minis as a stress relief after a day of dealing with small screaming people. I enjoy painting small silent people:D

I also have a side line job, for the last 8 months I have been managing a martial arts (Tae Kwon Do) business, with hopes that as the business grows some day I will be able to do that full time and give up the daycare!

I study archaeology and egyptology... which effectively means I\'m gonna be a taxi driver ;). Honestly, I hope I\'ll be able to get a job in some kind of research facility/museum/university. Till then, I\'m depending on my parent\'s money and am constantly looking for part-time jobs... that\'s why I also do some commission painting.

I hope you are able to achieve your goal with the degree, Godlike. I wanted to do archaeology or anthropology when I first started college, but then I realized that most people with those degrees don\'t get to go dig up fabulous things in Africa like the people you see on television. :(

I\'ve worked for an insurance company for the past 10 yrs. I don\'t sell insurance or handle claims, though. I write the policies. I\'ve worked on policies for companies like Pixar and Lucasfilms. Sounds dull but it can be quite challenging.

Good luck on those Becca. With a bunch of my family having recently retired from education, I know how frustrating it is for those who actually believe in a \"whole brain\" approach to our schools. Seems somewhere along the lines, we in America decided that all we ever needed to teach kids is math and science, losing sight of the fact that without art and creativity, we\'ll never realy achieve anything new or raise well-balanced children. Now I\'ll get off my soapbox. :D

I have a BA in Drama from the U of Washington, mostly having specialized in acting, directing, and lighting design/electrician work (ok...that\'s not very specialized, but I have a short attention span sometimes ^_^).

Now I work for a medical device company that manufactures handheld ultrasound devices. My official title is Order Fulfillment Representative, which translates to \"enter the orders and make sure they get places\".

Way to use my university degree huh? After working in the gaming industry for years, I decided that I don\'t want to work in the theatre for a living at this point in my life. I noticed that once I did my passion as my means of income, I lost my passion to actually do it. So now I participate in non-profit theatre here in town. I get to do art, but don\'t have to worry as much about profitability and whatever else.

Ok...that was obscenely long. I think the caffeine from this morning is kicking me in the head.

Well, I have thankfully started my new job. Still sort of teaching, but no teenage assholes anymore! I go round infant and junior schools and do art workshops with small groups of kids. It\'s great - I\'ve only had five kids in my groups all this week! A doddle! I had the mosaic i was doing done by 12 o\'clock today:bouncy:

Check it out. The long piece is 2.4m x 1m. The skinny one is 0.6 x 1m. The tiles are glass.

I\'ve done a few things ... dredging up memories, some not as fond as others.

Started out on family ranch breaking in horses, doing rodeo barrel racing, calf roping (remind me to tell you of the time that I got \'ran over and stomped on\' by one angry near grown calf), feeding and the obligatory shoveling of stalls. Didn\'t pay well as it was family, but as a teen it wasn\'t too bad.

Got into computers when we moved (and I worked oh so hard to loose that Texas accent in California), did odd jobs here and there, played mostly. Then one night I got a call from a friend that said, \"Hey, you wanna playtest a game for this company? They\'re providing Pizza\'. Of course ... there was pizza!

So I got into playtest games, went to work for Sega of America, did some heavy work for the Sega Saturn and I was the primary on BUG! (some of you may or may not remember it). Sounds like a fun job, but doing 90-110 hours a week (I had a bed in the back of my truck for power naps) of repetitive stuff wore on ya.

Then got a call that launched me into computers instead, and I became the Quality Assurance Manager for Domark Software and built up their whole QA department. That was fun, but long hours again, and I ended up having to get up at 3am a lot and trudging into the office, making calls to England to keep up with one of the software groups there, and then back to bed and back again. In the end, I got screwed over there and lost my temper.

Decided it was time to move on, my father had been trying to get me into airline work for years and I figured between computers and airplanes I could make something work so I went to school and picked up another associates, and three licenses (A&P and FCC certifications). I hated it, for the longest time.

Then I got on with a major (Northwest Airlines) and life was set, figured I would put my 30 in, get out and enjoy life and fly all over the place. That worked out pretty good till a little thing called September 11th. Spent two years on the road trying to keep my job, and finally the horse was shot out from beneath me.

Bit of unemployement, then defense contracting with Lockheed Martin working, or I should say, building the F/A-22 Raptor. Don\'t exactly like my job, but food on the table and all that.

Might make it out of this crazy industry one day ... hopefully not in a box or without a paycheck.

:D
