Just out of general curiousity, how often to you paint?

I get up at 4:30 on weekday mornings, go for a run, come back, eat breakfast and head off to work which starts at 6:00 AM and ends at 2:00 PM. I come home and I\'m usually beat. I\'d like to paint minis whenever I can, but I can only really do it on the weekends. I\'d love to be able to paint more often. I\'d do it on weeknights but I\'m pretty tired and I\'d hate to get started on something and then have to stop while I\'m in the middle of say the critical point of blending a cloak of skin shade on a mini.

Just out of curiousity, how often do you get to paint?

i work on some form of the hobby everyday...either assembly or paint, but then again, this is my job, so i had better be playin\' with the toy soldiers or i\'m not makin\' any money:)...
i\'d say if you\'re at home, and the urge strikes, take advantage of it...even an hour of paint is some progress...

cheers

I honestly feel lazy if I don\'t work a bit every day. Maybe guilty more than lazy, I just see a lack of progress and it bums me out. Even if I\'ve had a long day or whatever, I at least take a half hour or so.

I paint commissions full time (little bit less than full time during the school year), so I generally paint every day. Occasionally I will take a holiday if I need a break. I don\'t work on Sundays.

I used to try and paint a little bit every day, even if it was just 15-30 mins. Nowadays I do far less painting, probably a couple medium length sessions a week tops.

Lately there\'s been a lot of model building going on rather than painting. I\'m converting and basing a Sisters of Battle army, and like my Blood Ravens project I\'m doing unique scenic bases for every single model. My bitz boxes are beginning to run out of random vehicle/industrial bitz, which is making me sad. I have sooo many models left to do :D

Sunday normally.
But since I\'ve compressed my working hours into 4 days I should be able to paint on a Monday now.
This past weekend was a Bank Holiday in the UK and I managed to tag on Friday and got a \"privildge day\" on Tuesday.
So I got two days painting in, one of which was doing a demo/workshop in GW.

Ever since Baby Bulp came along I\'m lucky to manage a couple of hours a week thanks to full time job (compressed week too to incorporate child care) and all the chores that Mrs Bulp dreams up for me. These past two weeks they\'ve been away so I\'ve tried to find some extra time but a boxed set of Family Guy dvds and some other distractions have interfered.

Not as often as i\'d like to. My work is 6am - 1:30pm and then im looking after 3 children until 7pm, so in the end I dont get that much time. Weekends arn\'t that different with still looking after 3 children. And then theres my attention span which is\'nt realy any good.

I do intend at some point to get into doing at least 1 hour per evening and slightly more during the Week end.

The other thing that stops me from painting is the computer, general brousing and gaming can eat all my spare time most days. Must force myself away from it.

i go through phases of painting. Some weeks i dont paint at all but others i paint alot more. It all depends on my mood and how inspired i am to do a model.

Some times every day, but then I might not pick a brush up for a couple of weeks. It all depends on what sort of mood I\'m in and what I\'ve got planed.

I leave for work at 7am and return home at 6pm, monday to friday. Then after cooking dinner, doing some housework, and taking the dogs for walk, it\'s normally about 10pm and time for a shower and bed. At weekends there is food shopping, all the housework not done through the week and the obligatory visits to the in-laws. Meaning that im lucky if i get to paint about 2 hours a month! Rubbish!:cussing:

Up \'til a few months ago, I barely painted at all. Collected metal, mostly.
When it got into my head to actually try to do something with all that metal, I jumped in with both feet. These days, I usually get home from work between 6-8 pm, depending on the drink after work or no drink after work factor, clean myself up, change into sweats, and settle myself down to paint until midnight, or thereabout.
Three nights a week. Fridays, I\'m out pretending to have a social life. Tuesdays my lady friend has me booked. Weekends are for everything else.

it depends upon what else im doing at the time. uni work has to take priority unfortunately.
i paint whenever the urge takes me, though currently im trying to strip a load of Eldar...so many of my minis are in a terrible state of painting from my earlier years that most of them need stripping before i can do anything to them.
i usually end up painting very late into the night which my dad definately doesnt like lol, especially as last time he caught me painting it was 3am.

Sadly I\'m in a bit of a painting rut/funk at the moment and am barely managing an hour a week. When I\'m in full bore painting mode I\'ve managed a few hours per day. My painting frenzies/funks tend to last weeks or even months at a time. In addition to my current funk I\'ve also just bought Age of Conan and am rather enjoying being an MMORPG \'noob\' again but sitting just 3 feet behind me is my latest partially completed mini calling out to me.

Well, 1-3 hours per day ( I have exams in a month so atm thats about 1h on weekend:cussing: IF I\'m lucky... ), it\'s just my way of relaxing...
Each and every one of my armies needs some attention from time to time and I also have to do some commission stuff.

I try and paint for about an hour each day if I can. I used to pull 6 hour sessions but I just don\'t have the drive to do it any longer(I need a break from minis for a while.)
