Just out of general curiousity, how often to you paint?

Typically 2 hours on Wed and Thurs nights while the wife watches tv shows I don\'t care for and I get some time usually on the weekends - maybe between 3-6 hours, counting both days. 7-10 hours a week? With summer somewhat here, this will fall, especially the weekend hours as yard work and outdoor projects become very valuable indeed.

Hmm, well I have to get plenty of rest so my painting is done in short bursts (or should be). I guess I do some almost every day but I don\'t think the amount adds up all that much really.

I would say I paint for about an hour per night on average. Some nights not at all, some nights 2-3 hours. Once a week I have a regular paint night where I meet up with a friend of mine and we paint for about 3 hours. If I\'m really in a groove I\'ll paint for about 3-4 hours per day on the weekend, but the fiance and daughter don\'t like me to be in a groove too often.

This is what gets me... I don\'t get too many blocks of time to paint. I used to be a real night owl painter - 10 pm to 1 am were good hours for me! But I\'m going to have to learn to love early evenings, that\'s the time I have before my GF gets home from work. She\'s not keen on me staying up late, which to be honest kind of peeves me. I don\'t try and tell her when to go to bed
To answer the question, I guess I get to paint every couple of days... when motivation and time cross paths.

I paint in bursts, generally. I\'ll do a lot, then stop for a bit. I try and finish what I\'ve started, or the mini will be stuck at the half-painted point for the next year (or more!). The last thing I painted (and finshed) was a character mini for my boyfriend, which I had to get done on time because we were going on holiday together, and it was the only time I could give him it.
An hour or two at night maybe 2 nights during the week, but I have to turn in by 11:30 or I am worthless at work the next day (up at 5 am). I usually get in 3-4 hours on the weekend as I can stay up later.
@NSA & Amazon warrior - The majority of my painting is after my wife goes to sleep. No distractions, and she can\'t argue that I am not spending time with her, after I explained that being wide awake next to someone snoring in my ear does not qualify as \"quality time\".

Honestly, not as often as I should. It all depends on if I have something I\'m painting for and/or if I\'m working on something I really like. At slow times I work on and off all weekend but not much durring the week. When I\'m motivated I can spend hours every day working on something.
Hmm, does that count only for minipainting right?
I paint almost everyday something...from walls to canvas, to just some sketches.
With minis...dipped some basecoat on my hierodule recently. But I\'m not painting as much as I would like.
I also have a lot of work and I\'m beat afterwards. So the question after work often is: Mini or Canvas...These last months canvas always won.

Guess its not only for geeky hobbies.
My Ex didn\'t like when I painted canvas or anything, while I had to endure her violin sessions everyday...I tried to paint then, but it got on my nerves and I couldn\'t.
Perhaps thats why I use my time to paint bigger stuff now as long as I\'m single. Minis are \"better\" suited for relationships...considering the space they need compared to a 60x80cm canvas.
