So the answer to eating raw tainted pork is to eat raw tainted chicken afterwards to counteract the effects of each other?

I just thought it funny that after the recent bout of trying to prevent sickness form E coli that it is the answer to the flus going around.

I guess with the economy the way it is now though this doesn\'t do good for investors in pork futures.

There are literally hundreds of different strains of E. coli, the one that was in the news a while back with all the fuss about it being a \"superbug\" was one of the antibiotic resistant ones.

You are right though I bet the pig farmers are crapping themselves about the possiblity of widespread culls like we had over here for foot and mouth and BSE.

Actually it\'s not Star Anise exclusively that makes the Shikimick Acid that\'s used to make Tamiflu. Star Anise just has it in higher concentrations than other plants. Most plants make it. It\'s just easier to get more of it from Star Anise.

E coli being our microscopic factories for Shikimick Acid shouldn\'t worry anyone either. We get all sorts of medications from what laboratory engineered e coli make for us. It\'s a simple process of isolating the DNA code for the proteins that synthesize Shikimick Acid in plants, inserting it into an e coli bacterium and let its biological functions manufacture the acids for us. Then it\'s just a matter of lysing them and taking the bits we need.

Most people don\'t know that there are strains of e coli that live in our large intestine without whom we could die.

Yes there are some strains of e coli that are bad but we have found ways to kill them -- with antibiotics -- that we can get from lab raised e coli.

Almost all Flu strains start in China and travel around the world 3-4 times before they die out. Each trip around the world taking 4 months.

Its used to take longer but air travel cut the time in half.

Each rotation is mutates into a new strain.

all govt. workers, and food service people , have been issued paper masks...
they\'ve been wearing \'em on their chins for a couple days now...
not a lot of help there...

schools and public arenas have been closed, and we don\'t know if it\'ll be for 2 weeks, or what...

it seems, so far, that most of the deaths are still in mexico city...
keep in mind, that mexico city is one of the biggest, most overcrowded, shitholes i have ever lived in my live...
it is surrounded for miles by people who live in tin shacks, kneedeep in trash and shit...
i live on the beach, with prevailing winds off the sea...
holidays are over here so people are not comin\' in from the effected region...
we seem pretty safe here, and not to many people are taking the precautions seriously...

i just surf, eat mangoes, and smoke my spliff...
healthy livin\' is good for the immune system...
i think i\'ll survive...

i grew up in l.a. always hearing spanish, moved to mexico city when i was a teenager(living on the streets is good incentive to learn a language, \'cause you gotta get your hustle on to survive), plus i\'ve lived and surfed all over latin america...

my dutch was getting good before i moved away from europe...
my italian and french could use some work, as could my greek...
i married a japanese girl in \'07, and that helped me to learn her language...

the worst part is, you lose a lot when you don\'t use it...
i can understand words and phrases in a lot of languages(mostly to score weed and women), but the transfer from brain to mouth gets lost so easily when you don\'t use the skills that often...

i don\'t have any kids, \'cause i\'ve spent half my life chasing rainbows...
i\'d like to settle down soon, but i don\'t know if i\'ve cured my wanderlust( i call it itchy feet)...
i thought it would be gone once i circled the globe, but i was wrong...
