Theres always going to be predjudice amoung small minded assholes out there but luckily I know few of them... I do, however know of a lot of them, but I digress.
Hehe, I\'m sure a lot of us have more hobbies or pastimes than painting, modeling or gaming...although it has been known to eat up a lot of my time :)
I enjoy snowboarding and skating, keeps ya fit and makes travel more interesting :)

*edit * It\'s just you ;) Nah it took me a bit to figure it out.

In between painting and school I do Muay Thai and MMA, and work out 6 days a week. For the most part my local store is full of scary, stinky basement dwellers with no social skills. I try my hardest to break that mold in spite of being disabled.I do personal training on the side and not one of my customers had come from the shop.They\'d rather spend money on snacks and minis that they ruin by throwing paint in it(sometimes I think in buckets). I honestly think it\'s the US thing. When I went to Ireland their local gamestore was filled with mostly normal(I am not) people.:D

Pitynoman; I don\'t want to seem insensitive, but I\'ve seen your pics on the PYP thread and on your website and you look anything but disabled. You look like a bad dude. Your pics make me forget all the marine jokes we used to tell in the Army:D

That\'s ok...I refuse to be the poster boy for disability....2 years of learning how to walk again...and still sometimes I have to use a cane...I refused to take the doctors decision that that\'s how I have to live my life...I started exercising again having to use morpheine at first, than accupuncture and intensive physical therapy....the hardest part was resetting my mental pain scale...I had to decide for the sake of my sanity that there was no before and my 1-10 pain scale starts at 5.So 5=my 0
Always 24/7....Mind over matter . Nothing makes me sadder than seeing former Marines at the VA(the crappiest medical care your service can buy) hospital with fire all gone out, blank eyes and looking like crap....I refuse...not me again...not EVER...
I didn\'t get mad...just don\'t give up ever...that\'s all. There are alot of people that are disabled that let themselves be defined by the nature of their impairments, but alot define themselves by what they CAN do.

Outstanding! All I can say(as a former Army Ranger who has seen a lot of hardcore dudes) is that you are a credit to the kind of people in our services. You are harder than woodpecker lips.

lol Isn\'t that pretty much anywhere you can open a can rev? :D;)

And Pitynoman, I hold a lot of respect for guys like you. I was brought up with my old man in the Parachute Regiment and a lot of his buddies that were my \"uncles\" never came back.Even though I would feel a loss, just realising that he was there when the shit hit the fan made it crystal that shit happens and you have to deal with it and get on with life, never give up and give it 200 percent at all times. I\'m not just trying to put you on a pedistal and build an ego here, the respect you gain is the respect you earn.

Thanks guys!
I wasn\'t trying for an ego boost or a pity party...just saying just cause you are disabled doesn\'t mean dead. If I could get a surgery I need, which the VA doesn\'t do(shocking) I\'d go back in a sec....

Isn\'t there another services fund that can help? I\'m not sure about the U.S, but U.K forces and ex forces get pretty good help with that kind of thing.

I looked...not here...I just have to keep trying through Veterans Association...Maybe I can try Disabled American Veterans...or Veterans of Foreign Wars of both of which I am a lifetime member.

Vlad, I don\'t know the nature of your injury, but there should be some sort of appeal system? If not, have you contacted any non-military doctors?

I concerns me that we have a vet in pain and is not receiveing care.

My pain I am used to.Unfortunately VA doesn\'t do disc replacements and are too cheap to contract out.I am going to appeal.It\'s not just me...there are thousands of us that once we are out and not considered an asset are thrown on the tender mercies of VA.I can\'t afford supplementary insurance right now.:cussing:

Thats an absolutely shamefull way to treat people who fought for their country.
I sincerely hope your appeal and the roads you take are fruitfull. It makes me feel sick just thinking about it!
