Karskin Commission

I picked up another commission from the same guy I did some Imperial Guard Shock Troops for a while ago- this time it's Karskins. The color palette is being kept the same as the previous group so his army looks the same, which means I'm using Quick Shade again (I love this stuff). These shots are just after I sprayed a layer of matte varnish over the dried Quick Shade. Next steps will be doing all of the highlighting and detail work, plus basing.

The armor is mostly done- I airbrushed it on with a few different colors working from Tamiya Field Grey (think Catachan Green) to pure Camo Green, so the highlights are mostly done- I just need to clean them up and add a little edge highlihgting where appropriate.

I finally emerged from the stupor my sinus infection encased me in long enough to put the final painting touches on these Karskins and snap some example pics for my client.

I painted up all the highlights after spraying the quick shade with some primer. I did all the armor highlights with a brush and then came back with a very careful application of the extreme highlight color using my airbrush. Now I just have to finish the bases.

I finally managed to finish this commission. The basing was pretty easy to complete mainly because I pulled back on my original idea and did something simple but nice for gamining minis. I also decided to try out the tufts from Army Painter instead of applying static grass by hand. I really love those tufts- they're so easy to use! My only complaint is some of them are very large so I had to hunt around the sheet to find ones that were a good size for these bases- I only used tufts on a percentage of them. I hope the client will be pleased.
