Keeping a resin base flat damn you!

I posted a short piece about straightening bent resin piecs., and the advice given was awesome, thanks guys.
But rather the resurrect that thread, I'll start a new one about a specific and annoying mini base.

I have a 120mm base that has refused to flatten despite many, many attempts to do so.

The mini is still attached and I'm afraid attempting to remove the mini would leave a foot behind!

The base in question is some sort of 120mm round lipped coastline base with ammonite shell fossils, that has room for liquid effects.

Haven't been able to add any liquid yet though, as it's still wonky.

It's basically slightly dome shaped, with the edges lifted, so it rocks around like a baby's toy. (Okay, not that much, but you get the idea)

I've of course heated with all manner of heat-applying devices, fastened with all manner of clamps to all manner of rigid bases, only to have the darn thing still wobbly.

I heated in water and used 12 pegs to hold it to a thick wooden base, left it for 2 days.
Heated with hair dryer, clamped with work-clamps..left for a week

Super glued the entire base to a blank DVD pegged AND clamped, left for a few days..

The b@stard still lifted away from the edges...!!

I'd simply buy another one, but I can't even find that base again.

ANY IDEAS WELCOME!

Epoxy to scrap CD, leaving raised areas clear.
Allow to set, fill with Sculpting material of choice, tidy up/match as much as possible.

Trying to get a bulk amount of resin to straighten involves heating evenly to the centre of the material, which puts the edges at risk of softening to damage level.

Have you tried to sand the base flat? I've never tried sanding something that big, so no idea if it's even feasible.

Sanding it flat would be the easiest solution. Just place a sheet of sand paper on your desk and grind the base on it in circular moves until it stops wobbling. Wear a breathing mask, because it creates a LOT of resin dust.

heat it up with a hair dryer til its really hot then clamp it to a bit of wood as you did before, this time whilst its still hot dunk it in freezing cold ice water. if this doesn't work what he said^

I don't think I have enough clearance...I'd be pushing 1mm thickness, if not less!
Dragonsreaach has the best idea, putty out the gaps after the CD is attached.

Thanks!
