Ken Lay is dead

The ex CEO of Enron, Ken Lay, had a heart attack and died. Fox News just reported that during the autopsy, they found that his heart was two sizes too small, just like the Grinch.

Hard to shed a tear for that soul.

I posted this news on another forum I frequent. The only response was \"RIP Fat Bastard.\"

Damn! I was hoping he\'d have to live in relative poverty and shame for a while...

I\'d hate to wish death on someone.

It seemed ironic that a man whose actions had left many people near destitute and had wiped out the retirement savings of tens of thousands died while relaxing at his multi-million dollar vacation estate in Aspen.

Actually, I don\'t know that it was \"ironic\" since the money he ripped off paid for things like the estate in Aspen. I am trying not to take pleasure in the news of his demise, but frankly he should have died in a prison infirmary, not the comfort of his own home. After all, if he\'d stolen $100 from a convenience store instead of $millions from thousands of hardworking Americans, he\'d have been awaiting sentencing in jail, not Aspen. But of course the rich make their own rules.

I had to wonder how many of the people he ripped off died of a heartattack due to his actions. Or still have to live with the heartache of having their retirement stolen. It\'s bad enough to be ripped off, but to be cleaned out by a rich (very rich) man is especially galling.

Ken Lay is an infamous CEO who ran a multi-billion dollar company called Enron.

His shady accounting practices (of which he \'claimed\' he knew little or none of) basically robbed hard working folks of their pensions and stock. Some of that from folks who were ready to retire...wiped out!

He is of a long line of CEO\'s that have recently been either indicted or convicted of shady dealings.

The slime ball that used to run the company I work for, for instance, had the same theiving accounting practices. Our 90 dollar stock ended up at the low of $1.00...all the while his mansion in Colorado kept expanding.

NSA raises such a good point. Blue collar criminals are punished, white collar ones usually just fade away, sipping drinks by the pool. If there is any jail time, it is almost always in a \'light security\' prison, populated with other like minded individuals...hardly a punishment.

I\'d love to see my ex CEO get some hard time with Bubba the killer pimp. And by hard time, I mean rough and bloody anal sex, followed by more.

Oh what joy to be young and ... well let\'s just leave it at that ... being young is joy in and of itself.

Basically Enron was an interesting company. There is an article about the company in Wikipedia that might provide some interesting background information on the company.

Well, I am young. Plus I don\'t live in America. ;)

Thanks for the info. I can definitely see why you hate him so much.

Here we go:

\"On July 5, 2006, Lay died at age 64 while vacationing in Aspen, Colorado, after suffering an apparent massive heart attack on July 4. He was due to be sentenced on October 23, 2006.\"

Bad timing  He should have rotted for a bit first.
