Kernul Krood!

Big thanks to OrkyDave for taking the photo for me. Da Kernul is quite a hard mini to take a decent pic of because of his hunched posture and massive head which either makes the lower half look too dark or obscures it entirely. It\'s a much better quality photo than I could have taken with my crappy camera and it\'s also the first time I\'ve attempted to transpose a mini onto a gradient background. All in all I\'m quite chuffed.

This was my entry in the single figure category in the GW National painting competition. He didn\'t win single fig because OrkyDave moved him to monster and he won that instead

Very nice but the photo is too dark. It\'s difficult to see much detail except for the weapons and the top half of his head.

I\'ve tried to lighten it a bit but now it\'s looking a little washed out. Normally the ambient light in the shop makes it a good place for taking photos. In this case however, as most of the light comes from above Kroods bad posture prevents the light from getting to his torso.

And yes, the base leaves alot to be desired. It was hastily done the morning before the competition. I\'m planning on retrieving it from the shop some time this week so I can fix the base and paint the lettering properly.

Here we go again, this time with pictures kindly taken by War Griffin at the recent Platoon Britannica do.

The light tent made it much easier to illuminate the bits where the sun don\'t normally shine and it\'s all the better because I haven\'t had to fiddle with the levels on photoshop.

Also I\'ve resubmitted my Commissar Croe bust which was also photographed at the event.

I\'ll provide votey links as soon as the mods validate them. Hopefully the improved pictures will make it easier to give C&C, and yes Genrul, I know I haven\'t got round to re-flocking the seenik base so if you or anyone else have any tips on ash waste foliage etc they would be gratefully received.

@undave wash it with a drab green then dry brush with khaki (it will tone down the green)

a discarded coke can or something similar will add a little extra something without it distracting people from the mini.

I really like the original model but I think it\'s a shame you\'ve turned him into an ork (what with him looking nowt like an ork, except having that thing on his head).

Were there any prizes in that competition?

I\'ll agree the original model doesn\'t look much like an Ork but once I thickened both his legs up massively and changed a few other bits and bobs he now has pretty much the same posture and proportions as your average Ork Boy with the exception that he\'s ever so slightly more stooped.

I won a copy of one of the Kal Jericho novels but no one seems sure what happens next. Is there a regional round or was that it?
