Ketchup or Catsup?

Lots of silly polls are starting, so I thought I would join in the fun.

I chose the most ridiculously trivial thing I could think of off the top of my head.

 I remember during the Reagan Years the government wanted to count ketchup as part of the required daily serving of veggies in school lunches.:cussing:

Yeah, that was laughable...until I see the amounts of Ketchup some of these kids can put away.

Pints of it at one sitting!

The following statement I had heard on a news program:

one tablespoon of ketchup has the same amount of sugar in it as a half cup of ice cream.

I\'ll take the ice cream!

I coulda sworn that the Reagan administration actually DID have Ketchup declared a vegetable. :drunk:

BTW, my Mac also recognizes Catsup as a word so therefore both must be correct. :drunk:

Good grief....

Is there anything we won\'t discuss in ridiculous detail?

I voted \'Who cares?\'. This is the silliest poll I can remember.

Yet I responded.

Doesn\'t matter to me as long as it\'s not that GREEN ketchup they tried to market a couple of years ago.

I consider myself pretty open to stuff, but I can NOT bring myself to use. Blech.

Green ketchup wouldn\'t have been so bad. There are, after all, green tomatoes. Around here, there was a very brief appearance of blue ketchup.

It was pulled off the shelves less than a week later. Nobody wanted it.

I like my tomatoes nice and dark red. Just before they start to go bad is when they are best. :drunk:

Oh, and I think people reply to posts like this to get their post count up. I can\'t deny that it is one of the thoughts going through my brain.

I think this is an American thing...
What\'s the difference?
I don\'t think I\'ve ever even SEEN catsup over here in the UK... (Thought I guess they must sell it somewhere)

As long as I don\'t have to eat the.....crud.....you can call it anything you want. I\'ll go for salsa instead.
