Thanks a bunch BAM and nosebleeds! I did get my pictures stitched together and the Night Lord is up in the gallery now. Here's a link for those who are inclined to vote:

I have been working a little on Raven, but not a lot to show for it yet, just several more layers of yellow. I also started on her face, working on her eyes. Looking at this pic it seems her right eye (our left) still needs a bit of work. Oh well, that's why pictures help right? :(

Thanks for the encouragement Teronus and ten ball. I was out of town for a few days and didn't have much hobby time until last weekend. But this past Sat. and Sun. were rainy, indoor sort of days so I made good progress on Raven. The yellow is finally nearly done, maybe needs one more highlight and a glaze. I spent a lot of time trying to get her face right, and am pretty happy with the result. I also think I have my color scheme worked out now, which had been bugging me: green for the helmet, green for the armor on her skirt, probably green and red for the armor on her arms. Note to self: the white balance on the camera works a lot better photographing yellow if I get some of my desk in the photo.

I've also been busily planning and ordering my next project. I was searching Amazon and ebay for Ma.K kits when I found a cat in a space suit! When my wife and son saw space cat they both wanted one too, so now I have not one but a whole litter of space cats to assemble!

Wow, that yellow is a real labour of love - but the results are well worth it. And the space cats are super cute! I fully expect ArchArad to pop by any moment with a Pom Pom attack.

You have showed once again why Greg smalling is and always will a producer of highest quality painted miniatures. Pure affirmation why I always followed this chap and will continue to do so...that said yellow is a tough color right up there with white etc. this however is done with finesses and ease...and another of the many reasons I'll always be a follower of mr stallings thread.nice job Greg!!!

me too dazz. those cat's will be sending in a huge ping on arch's cuteness radar. can't wait to see khav's take on them

that yellow is looking fantastic khav. you've put a lot of attention to the combinations in it so it really shines. the face is looking real nice, loving the smooth blends. the only thing i could say is perhaps putting some lipgloss on her (upping the saturation of her bottom lip) and putting some eyeshadow on her. a girl can't go into battle without looking fab after all!

Thanks everyone for the support! Corax, Sicks, Dazz: Yeah I think the space cats will be a lot of fun. Each family member is going to paint one. It will be interesting to see what the wife and son do with theirs.
BAM - Thanks a lot man, I'm not as good as I once was, but I'm trying to push myself to get better and learn some new tricks. Here, for example, I used your recommendation and tried out Bailey's skin recipe - so thanks to both of you for some good advice!
and nosebleeds - Yeah, she absolutely still needs some eyeshadow and eyebrows. I may push her lipstick a bit brighter too after I see how her eyes work out.

I think it's a bit odd that my cell-phone camera created a smaller pic when NOT zoomed in than it has in the past when I zoom in on the mini. I would have guessed the opposite. Does anyone know how to run one of these damn things?

Loving that yellow! In fact it made me realize that I have little to none yellow on my miniatures... seems that I skip it unconsciously ^^'
Also those space cats are ace and super cute looking forward for the variety of results you and your family came with them. ;)

Well, progress has been slow I'm afraid. I did spend a few hours last weekend working on all of the leather areas, and finished roughing in the colors. I'm still not sure whether the last armor plate on her lower arms should be red or green with a red stripe, anyone have an opinion? I've also been constructing her base. It's meant to be the inside of an old spaceship. Unfortunately the base is currently still in several pieces, so no pics yet. Hopefully I'll get it put together and have a pic or two in the next couple of days.
